MyMagic+ article from Fast Company magazine

@AustinC, unfortunately many people here seem to try and one-up one another on the crazy. You have your faux-execs, your perpetual cynics, your faux-exec perpetual cynics, then you've got the other end that sees zero wrong with Disney—ever. What I'd like to know is whether or not your time in...

MyMagic+ article from Fast Company magazine

@AustinC, this is an incredible piece. I'm amazed that even when you reach out on these boards, our resident cynics immediately call your work one of pixie dust and magical manipulation by Disney. It certainly isn't. Well done.

WDW to Build New North Entrance to Property

Exactly. We don't have to have a by the book berm to hide the parking lot. A fence, some foliage, and bam - hidden parking lot along the access road.

Nanea Volcano feature pool at Disney's Polynesian Resort closing in August for extended refurb

Could you by any chance share what your line of work is, considering that when anyone calls you out on your negativity you immediately claim expert status on the subject? I am a lighting designer, sculptor and freelance graphic designer. I know what you mean by regularity of features, but what...

Hotelier Ian Schrager working on Disney Hotels.

Did it open for the expansion, or just around the same time the entirety of the resort was reshuffled and reconfigured? I have never seen anyone blame Bay Lake Tower for that ridiculous store location until now.

Nanea Volcano feature pool at Disney's Polynesian Resort closing in August for extended refurb

I really wish you would stop throwing accusations out like that. 3D CAD modeling is not a 'head only' process, as I'm sure any other designer on these boards would attest. The Imagineers of today, using the technology at their disposal, are technical artisans. There is not a firm separation...

Selfie sticks - is this a thing at WDW yet? Disney clarifies policy

That distinction will be very difficult to make to a Cast Member now that the rules have been apparently clarified.

    It WAS the soap!

H20+ is a great product line, and as others have mentioned, is great for those with sensitive skin and hair. I can use it knowing it won't screw with my skin! We buy their products at the resort market when we're at WDW - the H20+ Spa line from DCL and the Deluxe resorts is just divine. Disney...

You Can Modify Your Reservation On My Disney Experience!!!!

I won't say that will never happen again, because Disney can spring a "test" on us any time they please. But I will say that response for that test period was OVERWHELMINGLY negative and it did more harm than good, so we likely will not see anything like the elimination of standby completely any...

Wilderness Lodge DVC additions - Copper Creek Villas & Cabins

Refurbishment work is normal, and if there were cracks then it was possibly unavoidable or high priority for aesthetic or structural reason. However, if they did not inform you at check in that your view would be obstructed (it may not have been noted for the CM at the time) then it is perfectly...

Main Street U.S.A. hub redevelopment at the Magic Kingdom

I think it looks nice, but here is one possible reason for it (coming from a lighting guy). Red light is less intrusive to the eye, allowing the fountains to be seen and lit but not take away the focus from the lighting and beautiful scenery around them at night (mainly the castle). It looks...

Upgraded Wi-Fi service rolled out across all four parks this week

It's potentially the method of authentication, if that's the case. Some older devices also don't play well with zero-handoff between access points, which I can assume and hope Disney is implementing in some fashion better than it has been previously.

Upgraded Wi-Fi service rolled out across all four parks this week

Don't worry - All models of Apple iPod Touch (including back to the 1st generation) support the 802.11g standard. Disney is dropping support for 802.11b only, which means that any iPod Touch will be fine. Only early-mid 2000s devices will no longer work, and even some of them will be fine if...

Wilderness Lodge DVC additions - Copper Creek Villas & Cabins

Technically that was more similar to Poly. It wasn't existing DVC, they created it by converting part of two floors from Non-DVC and Concierge to DVC/Concierge/DVC Concierge. This would be the first time (afaik) that they add to the DVC property at a resort by removing standard cash rooms from...

Wilderness Lodge DVC additions - Copper Creek Villas & Cabins

I really don't understand how offering more grocery choices at a gift shop aligns with lowering quality of a resort. If anything, it adds to it. It's a nice plus to have that selection available at the DVC locations, and I've heard that from non-members. They like being able to go buy bread and...

PHOTOS - Tour through a completed Deluxe Studio room at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort

They did just that. Or, sort of. Split bath, similar to the layout on Disney Cruise Line but larger. The rooms at Poly are massive by WDW standards, so they had a lot of room to work with.
