News Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Standby Line and Boarding Groups at Disney's Hollywood Studios

Yeah, I'm an AP and I don't even agree with that statement. Vacationers are far more profitable which is why modern WDW caters so much to you. If there was any truth to APs spending more, Disney would do far more for us.

News Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Standby Line and Boarding Groups at Disney's Hollywood Studios

Thank you both for the info. Am I correct in my understanding they've still been opening the turnstiles at 6:30 and holding people on Hollywood Blvd? Just trying to figure out how long it takes to get through security and into the park right now.

News Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Standby Line and Boarding Groups at Disney's Hollywood Studios

So, I've been out of pocket these two weeks with family and holiday commitments. Can someone summarize the past couple hundred pages and let me know what the current BG process is, what time people have been getting there, etc? Tomorrow is our anniversary and have dinner ressies for Boma, but...

    Star Wars Ep. 9 Thread

I have been of those who's enjoyed the ST but am not at all on board how they've decided to wrap up the trilogy and saga. A lot of the people I interact with in my SW groups are the same. I'm praying this is a situation like Endgame, where the leaks sounded terrible on paper and...

    Star Wars Ep. 9 Thread

Guys, look. I like and respect you both, and I don't doubt you're as big Star Wars fans as I am. I agree with some of the criticisms you have of the ST, even though I've generally enjoyed it (up until this point). I just can't get on board with the "Rey is a Mary Sue", narrative and I'm...

    Star Wars Ep. 9 Thread

Uh...there's literally a whole scene in ANH where Obi Wan teaches Luke to tap into the Force to block blaster shots from the training remote. Later in the movie, he taps into the Force to hit the exhaust port, something a decorated combat pilot with a tageting computer was not able to do. Yoda...

    Star Wars Ep. 9 Thread

They're not rewriting anything. This particular power was heavily implied in ANH, The Mandalorian and was prevalent in Legends. It just hasn't been explicitly seen on screen before.

    Star Wars Ep. 9 Thread

Not to get too much into spoiler territory, but if they are referring to what I think they are from the leaks, this new Force power is not new at all.

    Star Wars Ep. 9 Thread

To be fair, Kylo was not struggling against Rey until she tapped into the Force; he was parrying all of her strikes and had her completely on the defensive retreat.

News Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Standby Line and Boarding Groups at Disney's Hollywood Studios

While not technically a ride, this is exactly what they used to do with the Star Wars Weekends Autographs. The first time I went, I didn't know you needed a fastpass, I figured it was a standby line like the countless other autograph sessions I had been to over the years. The second time I...

Live Action Mulan in the Works

The only question I have is why did they do away with Mushu to make the film more grounded, yet they introduce a new shape shifting witch villain?

News Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Standby Line and Boarding Groups at Disney's Hollywood Studios

Question, are there any reports on in-park guest behavior? People seem pretty y on social media about the downtimes and fully-claimed boarding passes.

Fully agree, EVERYTHING is so polarized and there's no tolerance for nuance in modern social tribes.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

Wow, so the videos pretty much confirm my expectations for this ride (and then some). Looks great. Two quick questions. First, has anyone seen any videos that captured the "mid air" 3-d laser blast technology in the patent? Seeing the holes and Sparks on the walls is cool and all, but I...

Is this the new standard and am I the only one who sees it?

As a former UO TM and AP, I have a different perspective on this. UO definitely hired a bunch of former CMs when they opened IOA and WWoHP, and they have a surprising amount of older, long-term and "lifer" employees. However, I think UO gets the perception that much of its staff is High School...

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

That's a good point, but at the same time, that was just an ultralight with a dragon prop hanging from it, right? These look far more custom and technologicaly advanced, so I'm sure they cost a whole heck of a lot more to design and build.

Star Wars Land announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

Actually, that's a great idea! Have Batuu residents reenact classic SW moments like our Civil War reenactments. Costumes would be "close", but make it clear they're handmade/repurposed like the toys in the shop and that they're Batuuan weekend warriors portraying the characters and not the...

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

What I just don't get is why would Disney go to the expense of building these only to use them for a single media event?
