News 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

I definitely wouldn't want Ice Age anywhere near Animal Kingdom. Prehistoric animals do have a place in DAK, and I'd love to see mammoths, ground sloths and sabertooth cats in the park... but in order for that to be done right, they'd need to build an original land with original attractions...

Of which most are facelifts. Almost everything coming to WDW is at the cost of something else.

That isn't a fair comparison. If you went in to IJA, ripped out all of the IP and called it a day, then of course it wouldn't be better. Multiple scenes on the ride rely on call backs to the original films and cameos from Indy himself. Without the IP, none of those elements would work. The...

Even so, that doesn't mean Disney's formula can't be improved. Disney currently doesn't offer attractions to satisfy thrill seekers, when its primary competitor does. I think no matter how you frame things, that is an oversight. While it may not be a #1 priority, I do think it would be...

News 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

Honestly Disney's thrill rides are made for children below the age of 10 and adults who have either never visited a regional theme park or are just scared of thrill rides. I honestly think Disney could benefit from having some slightly more thrilling options to compete with Universal for the...

I'm sorry man but this is just not true. And to be honest I find it a little disheartening that the IP mandate is so extreme at this point that people honestly believe IP just flat-out makes attractions better. IP does not inherently make attractions better. Shanghai pirates wouldn't be...

Sorry to hear that. For what it's worth, they respond to everyone like that. I just had one of them DM me calling me a tool who isn't smart enough to understand him, simply because I used a laugh react on one of his posts. Lol. Defenders will defend. Disney could shovel 💩 into their mouths and...

I suppose that is all subjective but I think their attractions have been mostly mediocre or even poor over the last decade. Rat is a basically a Universal-tier screens ride, no better than something like Transformers and vastly inferior to Spider-Man which is over 20 years older than Rat is...

News 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

I find it remarkable that every time Disney announces a new project, they promise the world but fail to deliver. And every time, long-term fans who have seen this charade countless times, set their expectations at the moon and stick their fingers in their ears when they are reminded of how...

As a sidebar, I do think it's pretty funny that modern Disney can't even build a carousel without cramming IP into it.

Exactly. And now we come full circle to my original point. It's cool and all that everyone gets excited or whatever, but yall should honestly keep your expectations in check. Everytime some new announcements come around, everyone here has to shove their fingers in their ears and act like we...

???? Toy Story Land has zero E-tickets. It has two D-tickets, one of which existed before TSL. Indy does not already exist in the form of Dinosaur. TSMM already existed and merely continued to exist after TSL. Indy will be a new attraction that opens with the Tropical Americas land, utilizing...

Lol I know they DID make lands with more than one headliner. But they DON'T currently. Maybe this will be the sole outlier to that trend. I just wouldn't bet on it.

News 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

I'd be pretty surprised if Encanto ended up being an E-ticket. Not saying it won't be, but Disney is definitely not known for building theme park lands with two E-ticket attractions. I would assume it's a D-ticket just based on Disney's track record.

News 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

Let me rephrase. I am not a proponent of replacing Dinosaur with movie IP. God knows we do not need any more of that trash. Disney should be replacing Dinosaur with an original attraction that keeps the dinosaur theme. And I'm not giving them a pass on that like many others on this board will...
