    Crowds - Is this normal!?

Another thing no one considers, both for crowds and costs: - an increase in population while the number of parks and number of attractions remains (relatively) constant.

Starcruiser: What do you think it'll be used for in 5 years?

After 9/11 the USA, and other countries, were at war with Iraq and Afghanistan. We had plenty of military ships in the Persian Gulf, which Iraq borders. The point being: do you want to go on a Cruise through the middle of a war zone. I think most would answer, "No.". The Star Cruiser, in order...

Starcruiser: What do you think it'll be used for in 5 years?

I hadn't even thought about the DVC resort. From the responses so far I like: - bus driver break room (kind of makes sense) - re-work it into a DVC resort (which also makes sense - they could just build a bridge over to DHS and that would work really well).. OR... hear me out.. They could load...

Starcruiser: What do you think it'll be used for in 5 years?

I know - "It's still yet to open!" and "Disney could turn it around!" I think this thing is flawed from the get-go: - it doesn't make sense. It makes sense on the surface until you realize: - Guests aren't looking for a "cruise" in space. - Why would you take a cruise that went anywhere...

Iconic Purple Directional Signs Being Replaced

Same here. Since i was a kid I was always fascinated with roads, traffic controls, freeways, overpasses, really complex interchanges. I know - it may sound kind of dull. It's just who I am.

They're there. They're more "informational" signs like: - Rest Area - Businesses at upcoming exit (fuel, food, lodging) Good explanation / review:

    Muppets Haunted Mansion

From what I understand, this one was done on a tight budget and I think it shows, in a very positive way. I saw it a week or so back and it was just fun, traditional Muppets mixed with the Haunted Mansion. I think if they had a big budget that they would have steered away a bit from simple...

    Raya and the Last Dragon

Yep. That's where I landed (just watched it this past week). I thought it was a really strong story. I like the morale it was trying to teach that, "It's OK to trust - don't assume the worst... etc." ... right up until the end and then it felt phoned in. Exactly as you said, no consequences...

    "Encanto" Coming Fall 2021

I just saw this movie on D+ - It is fantastic! I knock a lot of their decisions of late but I really enjoyed this movie.

Iconic Purple Directional Signs Being Replaced

I think that's the key. They're just road signs but the on the old ones they took time to make them cool, different, and spent time to make the readable and made it a resort-wide theme all in hopes of making the experience that much better. The new ones seem like someone told the sign...

Iconic Purple Directional Signs Being Replaced

The old scheme also had Mickey "appearing" as you went along. I think they removed those over time, however. They could have done something cool, like the did 30 years back (or like they did recently to SSE!), but they didn't. Just another missed opportunity.

Iconic Purple Directional Signs Being Replaced

They look like large, "Rest Area with Facilates, 1mi Ahead," signs. My guess: The old signs reached their lifespan (funny how that didn't happen to the Monorail trains) and they had to do something so they choose the cheapest route and "claim" it matches the new 50th Celebration That Falls Flat...

Figment bucket craze, if this doesn’t tell them something I don’t know what will

...AND the train pillaged. That's how things work in the Emerald City of L.A.

Figment bucket craze, if this doesn’t tell them something I don’t know what will

I didn't even think about this until now: They could have literally added this to Genie+ and made a lightning lane for it. I have no doubt that people would have paid $20 to get to the front of the line for a popcorn bucket. (No, this isn't tongue in cheek or me trying to be funny - they could...

Figment bucket craze, if this doesn’t tell them something I don’t know what will

All good points. To me another one hits: People, not all of them scalpers, waited 7-8 hours in line for a popcorn bucket. A FREAKING POPCORN BUCKET! If anything, this tells me that Bob is right in that he can pretty much do whatever he likes with charging / charging more for this or that...

You're going to pay to ride.

I'll try this one more time but if you're not getting it then you're not going to get it. Disney, when they released Fastpass, the entire intent was for EVERYONE (or at least the vast majority) to use the Fastpass line. Everyone would get to the parks, they'd release Fastpasses thoughout the...

You're going to pay to ride.

I think Bob's business approach is a bit too linear. It reminds me of when some public transportation says, "We've fallen short on our numbers! We'll have to increase fares to make up the difference!" They don't get: - increasing fares will only cause a decrease in passengers They never...

You're going to pay to ride.

I think you're missing the original bit: At all the other parks you're paying to skip the lines. At Disney, you pay to be IN the line (virtually) and the other line, which you're thinking is the normal line, isn't the normal line. It's the "Standby line". It's where you go when you don't have...

You're going to pay to ride.

No. "For just an additional $49.99/person, you can guarantee your park reservation so your family can spend a worry-free, Magical day at one of our parks." (you didn't tie in "family" nor "magical") They've already figured out how to sell the parks multiple times per day (except for the...

You're going to pay to ride.

Gee, I hadn't even thought about a "small surcharge" / "small fee" for "pay-for-park reservation". They could spin that with, "When COVID hit it sent us all into a whirlwind of uncertainty. Each of struggling with the loss of jobs, customers, etc. (this is how they show that they're one of...
