Do you think that Disney world will reclose its gates due to the rising number of COVID cases in Florida and around the country?

This is the scenario that Disney fears most. Big family going to Disney, all have not seen each other in weeks. Flying in from 3 locations, different planes. Same resort for a week, then they all fly back home. 3 - 9 days later they start to get sick. Does not take long to figure out what...

News Walt Disney World's COVID-19 reopening plans announced - July 11

The neck gaiter has been worn by fisherman for years. I had about 10 of them before Covid. A long day of fishing in the Keys is best done in long sleeves, hat, and neck gator pulled up over the nose. No sun exposure except for legs. It keeps you cooler, and avoids sweaty sunblock in your...

Do you think that Disney world will reclose its gates due to the rising number of COVID cases in Florida and around the country?

This might also be due to active duty military might be prohibited from traveling to Florida. Here in Key West, all active duty are prohibited from going to restaurants, bars, gyms, salons ECT. All non essential businesses off base basically. Their families, who do not have to follow orders...

Do you think that Disney world will reclose its gates due to the rising number of COVID cases in Florida and around the country?

This is what Disney has to be concerned about - Here in the Keys, we had about 100 cases, we opened to tourists on June 1st. We are now well past 300 cases. Many of these cases are from bars and restaurants. Every day we hear another place has closed for cleaning because a member of the...

Do you think that Disney world will reclose its gates due to the rising number of COVID cases in Florida and around the country?

Miami Dade has just closed restaurants again. Only take out or delivery. If we continue 10,000 plus cases a day, there will be more closures. I predict Disney will delay their opening.

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

The neck gaiter was designed for fisherman in hot sunny climates. Here in the Keys, we have been using them for years. Much more comfortable than masks, light and breathable. You want to buy one from a company that markets to fisherman, then you know you get the light weight breathable fabric.

More bad news from Key West. I use KW as a comparison to Disney, as I think that WDW will see similar events happen. This is what happens when you have a large influx of tourists. Some of the same people from Miami who have been coming down here will be driving to Orlando next month. The...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

Here in Key West - Opened bars and restaurants. We went to a few. No masks, not much social distancing. Then we allowed tourists back to the Keys. Lots of people came from Miami. Bars were very crowded. We decided not to go to bars and restaurants. Lots of photos of very crowded bars...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

Here in the Keys, we had a road block, residents only. Until June 1st, when we opened and the road block came down, we had about 110 cases. I think we had several weeks with no new cases. Now, we are getting new cases every day. Lots of tourists from Miami coming here, and they do not want...

News Walt Disney World's COVID-19 reopening plans announced - July 11

There seems to be decent coverage in the news of the 15 people who went to the same bar and all caught the virus. It wasn't to hard to figure out the one place they had in common. Disney does not want that type of coverage. They will do what ever is necessary avoid that outcome. This might...

News Walt Disney World's COVID-19 reopening plans announced - July 11

The most comfortable mask is the neck gaiter type worn by fisherman. We have been wearing those masks for sun protection long before Covid. They were designed to be light and breathable. I would recommend you purchase from a company that was making these before the pandemic, then you know you...

Disney Springs testing new no-stop security scanner for new entry screening when the parks reopen

I too hated the bag checks. Too many times I watched security open my eyeglass case, unfold a poncho, and look in my wife's wallet. Any knife that could fit in those items would be real small, and by holding the poncho you could tell it was too light to hold a gun. Any criminal who wants to...

News Walt Disney World's COVID-19 reopening plans announced - July 11

Before the parks reopen, bus transportation will be available to Disney Springs, and then to the parks once they open. Looks like they are trying to avoid the crowd at rope drop.

News Walt Disney World's COVID-19 reopening plans announced - July 11

The Florida Keys opened to tourists on Monday. There was not the surge in business and people that was expected. Duval street is empty. No cruise ships. Some of our issues will also affect Disney. There are almost no foreign tourists and all bars are still closed. I am not sure how Disney...

Disney World Pricing, No Mulan Theatrical Release?

I only go to the movies if it is a movie that I do not want to hear and see spoilers for. We have at least 4 streaming services. I never really like going to the moves, too much talking, too many phones, and way too many commercials and previews. If the movie is going scheduled to start at...

News Eliminating Fastpass and Extra Magic Hours - confirmed as of May 28

Not even close. One touch at the touch point, plastic to plastic. Credit Card machines have you touching several buttons, and sometime entering a pin number. I would also think that a quick spray every few minutes and a touch point would be sterile, the CC machine has too many buttons and...

Interesting how Disney chose a date that would not affect those coming for the 50th. We check in on the 26th, 4 nights CBR and 4 nights at Poly in the Hawaii building. When we were making reservations we were told that they were selling real fast. I doubt you can get a room at most resorts...

News Walt Disney World's COVID-19 reopening plans announced - July 11

I think the next 6 weeks are going to be the most important time of this virus. Two possible outcomes. 1, there is no spike in cases after everything opens up and masks and social distancing is ignored. 2, a large 2nd wave of infections, more shutdowns. If #1 happens, Disney will be able to...

    WDW Reopening Estimates

There is much more risk to Disney opening now than Universal. If there is an outbreak that can be traced to the parks, resorts, or employees it will make the news. The difference is, an outbreak at universal is 2nd page news everywhere except Orlando. If it happens at Disney, it's the top...

    WDW Reopening Estimates

We went out to eat last night. It was an all outside restaurant and bar here in the Keys. Good spacing on the tables, bar stools removed from the main bar, but lined up along a bar 3 feet from the main bar. It was very obvious that there were two types of people at the restaurant. Those...
