Avengers Campus - Reactions / Reviews

If it’s anything like Gringotts I’m sure it’ll be fine. If I had to guess, there won’t be much in the way of full spinning, more ‘rotating 90 degrees to face the screen on our left’ and back.

As I understand it, the goal is to give a coaster experience first, dark ride second. They’re calling it a story coaster, but I think that’s to tout the controlled spinning (you can look at a screen for longer if you keep turning to face it as you pass) more than anything else.

You’ll have to fly over to Epcot for that one.

    Magic Kingdom 50th Anniversary Plans

What are the chances of the Philharmagic revamp making the cut? They can market it as ‘new’ in a way that you couldn’t for a Peter Pan or Big Thunder refurb, and with it being in five resorts already they’d be setting themselves up for an easy shot in the arm at everything except Shanghai.

    News Tomorrowland love

On the subject of terrified children, I’ve seen (and traveled with) freaked out kids in line for everything from Tower of Terror to Dumbo. To a certain extent, the responsibility is on parents to pre-screen what they think is appropriate for their kids to experience, and to prepare them...

News Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Standby Line and Boarding Groups at Disney's Hollywood Studios

When you refer to Paris Space Mountain, does that apply to From The Earth to The Moon, Mission 2, Hyperspace, or all 3?

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - Tiana's Bayou Adventure

To add one more thing to the above responses, the flume itself flows more slowly in Florida than California, allowing the attraction some breathing room and better pacing in the WDW version.

News Tron coaster coming to the Magic Kingdom

So what will they do with the space that the design center takes up in Shanghai? Is the canopy going to be extended downwards a bit more, a new set-piece for the train added, or will they just plant some more trees to green up that side?

Any Bets on What Comes After Galaxy's Edge?

I know this is getting into opinions, but I’d argue what’s there *is* good, but too much of it is hidden behind a paywall. That’s not necessarily a permanent problem, but until they add back in more characters, droids, shows, and/or another ride it’s going to feel like something’s missing.

Avengers Campus - Reactions / Reviews

A couple of thoughts: 1) It doesn’t look like the microbrewery building is very tall. Are they going to be able to block the view of the Hollywoodland soundstage directly behind it? 2) The Quinjet seems like it will partially block Guardians’ side view, which I think will look better; that...

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - Tiana's Bayou Adventure

This is a false equivalence; not liking things such as clowns is not the same as pointing out offensive imagery or content, and taking steps to modify or remove them. I don’t like the Little Mermaid ride, but that has no bearing on whether or not it’s offensive (generally agreed upon that it’s...

    Splash Mountain re-theme announced

I think at the end of the day that as long as Disney is unwilling to show the movie, the ride is going to bear the brunt of any criticisms that the IP faces. Are we really surprised that they’re ditching a ride based on a movie they’ve actively avoided for decades?

HKDL gets new castle, frozen land and marvel land.

They are adding an entirely unique attraction in Oaken’s, and Frozen Ever After appears to be plussed over the Epcot version. I’m all for IP-free attractions, but unique and based on an IP are not mutually exclusive. Besides, it’s Fantasyland, the one spot in the park where they should be...

HKDL gets new castle, frozen land and marvel land.

Also, being able to copy Frozen Ever After is likely what allowed them to get a second ride into the plans, and and what Hong Kong is lacking is numbers, not unique attractions. The Frozen expansion gets another dark ride into Fantasyland, and with Oaken’s, they’ll still be adding a worldwide...

Avengers Campus - Reactions / Reviews

I know you’re kind of joking, but I mean honestly it’s true. At it’s core, it’s functionally a space western fairy tale, so it’s literally a world of yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy. Better behind Frontierland and Fantasyland than Kablam! Batuu is actually an undiscovered part of California.

News Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind attraction confirmed for Epcot

I think because Jurassic is a theme park within a theme park that my brain doesn’t register that. It just looks like what it is; a rollercoaster along the waterline that passes by the Discovery Center. Honestly, the color scheme is the most disruptive aspect if they’re not converting the whole...

News Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind attraction confirmed for Epcot

Flight also benefits from the “I didn’t know simulators could do THAT” feeling, whereas Rise is the culmination of every trick we’ve seen before thrown into one massive experience. Both rides are great additions, but we expect Disney’s dark rides to blow us away, so Rise has a higher bar to...

News Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind attraction confirmed for Epcot

Coaster with projection screens, like Gringotts and Rock’n’Rollercoaster had a baby. I believe someone said it would be 44 inches, and 2021 was the original date, but who knows at this point?

Voyage of the Little Mermaid is done, won't reopen with the parks.

I don’t necessarily disagree, but I think some of that has to do with the fact that each new castle park is gonna drop some older things in favor of what’s interesting at the time of their development. Magic Kingdom was built without Matterhorn or Pirates, Tokyo without Big Thunder, Paris...
