Poll: For those who curbed visits or stopped visiting Disney Parks, what are your top reasons?

My "other": G+/ILL. I hate their negative impact on Disney's operations (understaffing and running rides at partial capacity to increase wait times and drive G+ sales), and on my overall touring experience. My disdain for G+/ILLs persists whether I purchase them (too expensive for the little...

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

This old chestnut is from 2018. Has he indicated something different since then? Where lowered capacity is readily observable (e.g., attractions with less than the full complement of loading bays being used) I've continued to see attractions running at lowered capacity the overwhelming majority...

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

As a tangential issue, some of us (okay, me), when we complain that Disney doesn't have sufficient "capacity" to accommodate all the DAS/ILL/G+ crowd without making things miserable for the rest of us, aren't saying WDW necessarily needs to build more rides. It's not a question of Disney's...

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

You're right. It's not better, other than the ability to potentially spend a little less time staring at your phone. You're still paying handsomely for something that used to be free, AND that used to offer access to more (and more popular) attractions. We don't have a WDW trip planned for a...

Universal Epic Universe (South Expansion Complex) - Opens May 22 2025

I booked RPR for August 2025, months ago. Rates for our room and dates have increased $200/night since - and I'm sure will be way more in the months to come. Even when we visited during President's Day week a couple of years ago, I booked HRH a year ahead and they'd doubled the rack rates by...

    Changes at Sleepy Hollow

That's a shame. I've always wanted to try the original chicken/Nutella waffles, but have never had the patience and good fortune to get through the line. I've lined up at Sleepy Hollow a couple times in the past few years, only to give up 10+ minutes later when the line hadn't moved an inch...

Rumor What is everyone’s confidence level that a Villain’s land will happen?

Under current Disney management, the fact that so many guests want it and would enjoy it seems to make it less likely to happen, rather than more. ;)

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

I was quoting someone else: they said "needed." But yes, they are certainly not the same thing.

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

So if 8% of guests need DAS (and can each bring 3 people with them), that means up to 32% of guests are using it. That sounds like "a high number all things considered" to me! Although it would help explain why the standby-to-ILL ratio is so horrifically high, and so dramatically detrmimental to...

Universal Epic Universe (South Expansion Complex) - Opens May 22 2025

They've renamed the formerly-known-as-gypsy characters, as the "Guild of Mystics," presumably to avoid any of the offensive cultural stereotypes that have become attached to the term in the intervening decades, and likely redrawn their images for the same reason.

I love how every time I see a new batch of aerial photos, there are more trees and more water, particularly in Celestial Park. Earlier promos said they were going to put the "park" back in theme park, or something to that effect. I'm starting to believe it!

If this is not a blantant money grab, I don't know what is.....

I'd submit that it's hard to be "happy" either way -- at least, not as happy as in the pre-ILL/G+ days. When I don't have G+, I feel constantly frustrated, anxious, and demoralized, watching every G/ILL purchaser and wait-impaired person (x4) get shunted ahead of me, to the point where I...

Universal Epic Universe (South Expansion Complex) - Opens May 22 2025

Yes, although - fun fact - you'll notice that in the promo video, they call her _Henry_ Frankenstein's descendent. That's because Universal changed the doctor's name to Henry when translating the novel to the original film, thinking American audiences would find the name "Victor" too...

If this is not a blantant money grab, I don't know what is.....

You've hit the nail on the head. G+/ILLs at WDW (and having to make the Fool's Choice between waiting in unreasonably long standby lines and being treated like a second-class citizen, and gambling ridiculous amounts of money on G+ just so I can pound my phone all day) are 100% the reason we...

    Left Or Right?

We don't have a tradition either way. We tend to enter whichever side is closest to the turnstiles where we entered (which, in turn, tend to be dictated by which side is closest to the transportation we took to get there: left for the monorail/boat, right for the buses).

Universal Epic Universe (South Expansion Complex) - Opens May 22 2025

I understand your dismay, although I don't think the new versions (other than Dracula, who got the most dramatic update) are too dissimilar. I think Universal is just trying to strike a balance between the classic look, and a look that will seem scary or thrilling to a contemporary viewer. Even...

News Revamped Dining Room Unveiled at EPCOT's San Angel Inn Restaurante

I think it looks really nice and much more warm and inviting than before, although I agree that the booth-backs/barriers between the tables seem to block the water view more than is needed. Not that it would affect me personally if I were to return to San Angel Inn, since we have always gotten a...
