Understanding Why Disney's Magical Express Is Ending

This is all based on DME going away. Do you know for a fact that there is another contract? Let's say there is no contract with WDW. Universal signs a contract with Mears and pays the to put universal on the side of all there buses. Disney can't do a thing about that. I'm not saying it...

Understanding Why Disney's Magical Express Is Ending

With DME gone, what legal or contractual avenue is there? Will there be a contract between Mears and DW? Mears owns the buses, they can put whatever they want on them. Or whoever is paying for it. The only thing Disney could do is pay them to stop using those buses on property.

But universal owned the avengers. Disney does not own Mears buses

Understanding Why Disney's Magical Express Is Ending

I think I've only used DME once in the last decade. But that once, there were about 5 people per line going to individual resorts. Combined there were maybe 2 busfulls. But all those people were getting on separate bases. 2 buses would have sufficed, albeit longer drive/drop-off times...

Understanding Why Disney's Magical Express Is Ending

To be honest if Mears takes the whole project on. They'll probably change the routine. Like no empty buses, only leaving the airport when they hit a certain percentage. Multiple resort stops per bus.

They have them at the parks, I don't know why they aren't at resorts already.

Which decade did you first visit WDW?

As kids we had muskets from Disney. Came with caps and little cork balls that shot out

Understanding Why Disney's Magical Express Is Ending

I think its just the point. You've already knocked me over the head now you want to shake my pockets out for the spare change leftover. Personally just add it to the cost of the room. I won't stay anywhere if there is a parking fee.

I wouldn't doubt people are doing that.

I think it will. Guests will have figured out alternate transportation and that will lead to some leaving the bubble. I also see resort numbers go down. If you rent a car, you'll have to pay to park. Might as well rent a house/condo outside and pay to park at the parks.

Understanding Why Disney's Magical Express Is Ending

I have a friend and his son works for a rental company. He said they were forced to sell off inventory when the country shut down. And until the rest of the country opens they won't be adding any.

Understanding Why Disney's Magical Express Is Ending

St Patty's week i paid almost $400 for 9 days in a mid size. Thats over 3 times what I would normally pay. Just got back from clearwater and paid almost 500 for a week in a minivan out of tpa. Rates have skyrocketted

Understanding Why Disney's Magical Express Is Ending

Lets see how that plays out. Car rental agencies are at an all time low for inventory right now. Prices are thru the roof. And without DME at MCO you can bet those prices will stay high, even if they grow their inventory.

Understanding Why Disney's Magical Express Is Ending

Absolutely on point. Although I do think free dining/dining plans play some part in that PRGS. As quality and quantity took a downturn. As new DVC members in 2004 we spent about 5 years never leaving the bubble. I guess around 08/09 we started noticing everything going up. We started...

News 2021 EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival

To be honest, we had shirts like that once. Me and DW planned to go, like we do every year, by ourselves. Then a distant family member mentions they are going with their extended family. Then some of their friends tag along and so on and so on. Turns out to be about 50 people. So yes...

Which decade did you first visit WDW?

We drove from Philadelphia twice in the 70s. 72 & 78. The first time we stayed at a holiday in and drove to MK. The second we stayed at the Polynesian. The monorail was awesome at that age. I didn't return til 2000. Joined DVC in 2004 and have been going multiple times per year since...

Soarin' Over California VS Soarin' Around the World

I like them both. I think they did a better job on the original. The new one is perfect, but only when you sit in the middle. The crooked screen drives me nuts
