Trip Report Shookie's Family Four Pack...Plus Two (I think that equals six)

My adopted fox hound - we had him for six weeks. Had him in the car taking him to a dog park, he jumped out of the window of my car and SPLAT. That was the sound - but he was fine. A little slower the next day.

Rumor Guest Boat Rentals Not Returning

Well we maybe some of the last to ride. We rode the sprites after WDW shutdown, I think on Tuesday. Really sad - one of the great perks to staying on site.

Rumor Guest Boat Rentals Not Returning

I would be surprised if they don't bring these back. I have incredible fond memories renting these as a kid at the Contemporary; and we rented them on the last day they were available last March again at the Contemporary. It was alot of fun and an incredible way to see the resorts. The dock...

    Space Mountain vs Splash Mountain

I was blown away at had bad the chair was but moreover when I went for a run there were wheelchairs literally in places that were way out of sight. The inventory process was just out of control. So I expect you are more than right. Went with another offsite company and it was so much better. Yet...

    Space Mountain vs Splash Mountain

WDW went to a single onsite approved vendor for mobility needs. Worse chair EVER. Literally a piece of junk. I rented it for a few days ans scrapped it. This was during the panademic shutdown - the company had wheelchairs literally everywhere. I had no clue how they were managing their stock...

Disney, DONT bring back 180-day-in-advance restaurant reservations.

When we went to DL in January of 2020, getting tables was just so much easier. It was refreshing. and it was 60 days out.

    Top 10 Rides in Florida

Is Safari a ride? It is an experience for sure - including getting stuck on it as the giraffes went a little crazy one day.

    Space Mountain vs Splash Mountain

I watched a video stream on DL and they walked through Space mountain. My middle daughter needs a wheelchair at the parks so we do not enter Space Mountain at DL via the front. The video reminded how different the rides are. WDW Space has this long immersive queue, totally unique at the time...

    Space Mountain vs Splash Mountain

WDW Splash over Space - Splash is hard to maintain but it is a brilliant ride taking the flume ride into a whole different place. Been rising Space mountain in WDW since 77 and will ride it every time I enter MK but I am sad to lose Splash as-is but hopeful it will we really well . done. DL -...

Understanding Why Disney's Magical Express Is Ending

Granted I flew Spirit but my rental was more than my two flights. That was a first.

Understanding Why Disney's Magical Express Is Ending

For people not watching, new car inventories are very low and yes the rental companies dumped alot of cars. A local Chevy dealer by the airport in Charlotte had like 35 Nissan Altimas fro the rental companies. When we went in December, the prices at Hertz were a great deal more than in the past.

Understanding Why Disney's Magical Express Is Ending

DVC members staying on points do not pay parking. Which is one of many reasons why DVC resorts have more cars than other hotels

Understanding Why Disney's Magical Express Is Ending

Well I expect this to go out the window by the fall of 2021. Desantis wants full parks now actually. Interesting to watch how Disney I rent cars or drive as one of my kids uses a wheelchair at WDW or DL. First, the current rental experience has no cars on Side B, but this is temporary. But...

Cars Land After a Decade: How Are We Feeling?

I was incredibly excited to go to Cars Land in 2016 for the first time. I was underwhelmed by the ride frankly (maybe because of the hype, maybe because we love the original Test Track so much) but the world is amazing, better at night. I wish they would export it to WDW at HS, but suspect it...

Understanding Why Disney's Magical Express Is Ending

Disney is counting on strong to historic demand after the next couple of years. People want to travel - went to the beach for Spring Break and it was quite crowded. If anything, Disney has a supply problem coming up

Understanding Why Disney's Magical Express Is Ending

The analysis is spot on - someone convinced Disney execs that subsidizing DME was no longer needed. I subsidizing because yes pre-DME many of us paid our way to/from MCO in some form. Notice that the cost of a hotel room will not be going down come 2022, Disney just created more margin by...

July weather vs. central NC? Same?

Well Columbia is the 2nd level of hell. Seriously it is often 5 to 7 degrees warmer in Columbia than Charlotte - only 90 minutes away.

July weather vs. central NC? Same?

We went in mid-October in 2018 and it was simply oppressive. Great to be at a waterpark but just incredibly hot. Not the first time October has been that way

July weather vs. central NC? Same?

Fellow Disney geek in Charlotte. The real kicker is dew points. As a runner, that is what I watch. We go to the coast in the summer, and despite running in the Charlotte area, that dew point at the beach which is somewhere in the mid-70s kicks my tail. Ran a 8k race on the 4th of July in Myrtle...
