News 'Beyond Big Thunder Mountain' Blue Sky concept revealed for Magic Kingdom

This is my general understanding - whether the River will be shortened or not still isn't clear to me, but this is the basic thrust of it.

News Hatbox Ghost coming to Walt Disney World's Haunted Mansion

My understanding is there's more to him than that.

News Hatbox Ghost coming to Walt Disney World's Haunted Mansion

Nah, that's not it. On a Mansion-related note, this new video from WDI showing the Tiana's Bayou Adventure figures featured something interesting in the background of the first shots with Josh D'Amaro: 👀

News 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

Then why not join that thread and let the people who wanna discuss this project have at it?

News 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

Original, bespoke Indy attraction. Created with Animals fully in mind, thankfully.

News Avatar Experience coming to Disneyland Resort

Precisely. Not 100% but pretty darn close.

News Avatar Experience coming to Disneyland Resort

For those who are skeptical, compare this Blue Sky sketch for "Beyond Big Thunder" at Magic Kingdom with the new art for Avatar at Disneyland: There's a reason one is so much more developed and detailed than the other - and it's not for the fun of it. As always, reality never completely...

News 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

The fact of the matter is that Disney doesn't listen to anyone except themselves. For better or for worse.

Rumor Stitch's Great Escape Replacement— Don’t Hold Your Breath

In fairness, when have they ever really tried? Disneyland 1955 was really the only time a Tomorrowland attempted to genuinely predict anything, and even then it was still mostly reliant on demonstrations of cutting-edge technologies more than attractions based in an ever-expiring future. Since...

News 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

That doesn't shock me - the fact that overuse and the truly terrible Stitch's Great Escape didn't seem to erode favor for the character does suggest he has serious staying power. I mostly was saying that Mickey and Pooh may have stepped back ahead in terms of merch sales (or not, I guess I can't...

News 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

I believe that at least at one point that was genuinely the case - Stitch actually outpaced both Mickey and Winnie the Pooh in terms of merch sales somewhere in the last 20 years. I wouldn't assume that's necessarily still the case, but that's a big part of why he was suddenly everywhere back...

News The Walt Disney Company Board of Directors Extends Robert A. Iger’s Contract as CEO Through 2026

People say that, but there are many more theme parks run by other companies that don't come close to Disney's level than there are theme parks run by other companies who exceed it. With that in mind, if The OLC would like to place a bid for full parks ownership I'd say we should hear them out.

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

The crates look far less Tiana-specific and more like general Frontierland placemaking. At first glance I thought they were crates from the Tom Sawyer Island dock.

News Walt Disney World Holiday Events 2023

Oh I agree that projections are insufficient. I just think the Dreamlights weren't quite all that, even at their best. I would also be plenty thrilled with a winter overlay that's closer in line with what Disneyland does. Of course their castle is much smaller and easier to decorate in this...

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

I would assume it won't be open for your trip - the way it was phrased to me made October feel more like best case scenario than like a sure thing. Plus, it's better to expect nothing and be pleasantly surprised than to expect to ride and be disappointed. I'll cross my fingers for you, though 🤞🤞🤞

News Former Walt Disney Imagineer Joe Rohde to be honored as a Disney Legend at D23 2024

    I don't think that's accepted - mainly because it's not the truth.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

I've been hearing October at the earliest for DL's TBA, but who knows if that'll change between now and D23

News Walt Disney World Holiday Events 2023

This may be an unpopular opinion, but the Dreamlights never quite earned their keep for me. They take forever to install, muck up the face of the castle during the day, and look kind of cool at night but not as sophisticated as I think they should. I wish they'd just find a way to run Fiber...
