Rumor D23 2024 WDW Rumors, Predictions & Discussion

So I was just thinking... I know many of us are jittery about how the financial state of the company can impact decisions to cut funding or value engineer projects. And the stock price not doing well has me on edge a bit as to whether the planned parks investment will be cut. But I will say...

News Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

In terms of how it affects guest experiences at their respective parks, I think losing MuppetVision is worse than the RoA just because of the limited options of attractions at DHS. Losing the RoA and Liberty Belle hurts a lot from a theming prospective but you can still have plenty of other...

News Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

It's entirely conceivable that they are are going smaller at DHS right now while they do bigger and more costly projects at DAK and MK. And then they might spend a greater amount at DHS later in the next decade once they aren't spending as much in a fiscal year at other parks. I'm not saying...

Rumor D23 2024 WDW Rumors, Predictions & Discussion

But they are increasing their Capex spend. That's kind of the entire point of the "we'll be spending $60B on the parks division in the next 10 years" announcement.

    SPOILER: The Acolyte -- Disney+ Star Wars -- begins June 5, 2024

The sad thing to me is that I thought the show was decent enough until the finale when the inexplicably made Sol a villain?! I’m still not sure exactly who we were supposed to be rooting for in the series. The sensible people died, the annoying people lived and the main character who we seemed...

Well the killed off all the interesting characters so no loss.

News Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

It wouldn’t have to be small as there is parking/backstage space that could be used behind the current Mama Melrose building.

News Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

Agreed. If they are going to remove MuppetVision, they need to "go big" and be expanding into the backstage parking in that area.

Or yes please let us speak it into existence at DHS. It would be a solid addition and the park certainly needs more than just the Monsters door coaster.

Rumor D23 2024 WDW Rumors, Predictions & Discussion

Why wouldn't they be doing both at the same time? They indicated that work has begun on all the projects and that everything announced is planned to be completed within 5 years. I'm not saying they will keep to that schedule, but it seems to be the intent and it is certainly a plausible...

News Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

? Wouldn't Monstropolis be the same scale as our human world? And wouldn't Zootopia largely be that way as well (there are sections that are smaller like where the shrews were but the "main" area where Judy and Nick operate seems the same scale as our world)?

News Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

Zootopia is a great film and perfectly fine to include in WDW. It doesn't fit DAK as it is not a film "about" animals as much as using animals as a surrogate for humans. But it's a good choice for DHS. I'd be very happy to see that IP added in DHS. My biggest concern would be that they don't...

News Mando and Grogu Join Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run

As far as we know, Mando and Grogu are still alive in the sequel era. This addition doesn't explicitly mean they are changing the timeframe of the ride.

News Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

In a broad sense, I think retheming Star Tours to a different property would make sense. Especially if they don't want an odd vestige of Star wars outside of Galaxy's Edge. There's nothing wrong with the ride mechanics and its very flexible and with 6 bays in DHS it has great capacity (part of...

News Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

It would depend on specific plans and specific backstage usage but IMHO there’s plenty of space backstage behind AC to fit both Monsters Inc and Zootopia. I’d fill that up first then you can talk about using the stunt show area (or even the BatB theater which has an expansion pad next to it). I...

News Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

I guess that seems like a waste to me when they can repurpose the hotel space into something that generates revenue like a Hoop Dee Do type dinner entertainment

News Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

Why do people keep bringing that up? The Star Wars hotel seems like a terrible option for offices - it's not set up for that purpose. I'm sure they is actual office space in the area that can be used instead for relocated people from the old Animation Building.

Rumor D23 2024 WDW Rumors, Predictions & Discussion

There’s two different points here. When does Disney expect/plan to open Villains land vs when does it actually open. Right now, the intent and expectation from Disney is for it to open by 2029. Obviously things could happen that would delay that but it’s certainly reasonable they could open the...

News Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

If there’s an extra attraction in the AC location in addition to keeping Muppets, it is ridiculous how much better an option that is for guests.

News Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

Universal has the Marvel rights in perpetuity (if they want them). They have no reason to ever have to replace those rides and the land. At most we might see Disney paying to share the Marvel rights or being able to use some additional characters that Uni isn’t using but even that is a big...
