Not on that thread, what indicates that? They already have multiple projects all but confirmed (Beyond Big Thunder, Tropical Americas) while the west coast mostly just has Avengers and Avatar for sure.

The cynic in me thinks it's just them hyping up the AA going into Lincoln, but I'd love to be surprised.

For me DCA beats out USF, and one big reason is that the latter lacks any major "natural" themed areas like Cars Land or Grizzly Peak. The majority of USF's lands (including Diagon) are different types of cityscapes which can get repetitive, and the ones that aren't are just bare showbuildings...

The VQ has been consistently open even later than that so you should be fine, although I'm not sure how D23 crowds will impact that.

Honestly the current theme is close enough to that version to where the ride's placement doesn't really bother me too much. It's still a better fit than Ant-Man or the Wreck-it Ralph retheme going to Tokyo.

I wish they would take the tacky wraps off the monorails, or at least give them less obtrusive ones (like the 100th one) if the rumor about their paint being damaged is true.

I'd also recommend checking out Cabana Bay for a bit - it's one of the cheaper hotels but it does have a lot of 50s theming that's executed fairly well, and you can access the pool areas if you're staying at any of the Universal hotels. If you can handle Mission Breakout then I wouldn't...

I highly doubt anybody would let them use what would basically be drones armed with flamethrowers. Smoke effects would be cool though.

DL doesn't tend to do soft openings as often as WDW does so I doubt they'll have any for TBA.

I think that's more due to the location of their respective stations, with Hogwarts Express being located directly in the parks themselves. The monorail at DL requires a park ticket to board not because of its immersion but because it has a station directly in the park. I'd still consider...

Isn't Critter Country still torn up currently? Not sure how they'd get that open up in under two weeks. Maybe they'd give a POV but even then it might be a stretch.
