I feel this is bound to replace the Silver pass, which is too bad. With Galaxy's Edge is opening in "fall" 2019 they could eliminate it as soon as September/October. I might buy a Silver AP voucher and wait to activate it until next year just in case.

Yes other hotels charge them but their rooms are also dramatically cheaper than Disney for comparable quality.

The parking lot is a common element and a portion of the dues go towards maintaining it. I'm assuming that's why it will be free for DVC members-- more of a requirement than a 'perk'. Now if a DVC member goes to another resort for a meal, etc, not sure if they'll have to pay since they're not...
