I call that the "NYC Apartment Rental Strategy".

WDW Taking a Hit Over Gator and Massacre ...

I don't think it is specific to the Graves family. Disney doesn't like ANY negative feedback, and if they think a casual guest with no relation to the Graves family might say something about the use of alligators/crocodiles being inappropriate or insensitive on merchandise or as characters in...

    Frozen Ever After opening day

Do we know what's causing the breakdowns? The ride system is essentially the same as Maelstrom, right (with I assume some minor upgrades)? How often did Maelstrom break down?

WDW Taking a Hit Over Gator and Massacre ...

Erasing the existence of alligators and crocodiles is beyond over the top. What next? Close Test Track the next time there is a traffic accident on property resulting in fatalities? On second thought . . . I wonder if Universal is also seeing reduced bookings. It would explain why I was able to...

DCA - Strategy for Soarin' and Carsland?

Not necessarily true. The standby line can get to 45 minutes. The last time I was there I don't think I waited more than 20 at most, but at peak times it can get to be 45 minutes. But as everyone has said, the second you enter the park, head right to the RSR FastPass machines.

4 Days - What We Missed

I honestly don't understand how you could have missed so much being there for four days, even with the 4 hour breaks each day. Based on some of your comments, it seems to me that you simply did not want to wait in the lines for those particular attractions.

Can they make a ride without screens?

I think this absolutely 100% true, and more succinctly said than when I tried to say the same thing. I think I used Transformers in my example about how AAs simply would not work with what was needed. There is just no amount of realism in the motion of the AAs. How do you do a Simpsons...

From the OS: Gator drags child into Seven Seas Lagoon

I know I have. I remember riding Splash Mountain a few years ago and seeing an alligator on the grass by the turn after the run-out (after you exit the "cave" and make 180 degree turn). It was just lying there, facing the trough, and I remember being concerned that it could attack one of the...

From the OS: Gator drags child into Seven Seas Lagoon

The warning against terrorism is not an apt comparison, since the average person in this country is well aware of the potential of a terrorist attack (which is still extremely low). Even if you can argue that terrorist threats aren't widely known by the populace, it wouldn't change Disney's...

From the OS: Gator drags child into Seven Seas Lagoon

That's a very naive and dangerous statement. It could absolutely happen again. While I agree that some of the "solutions" do go overboard, not to take precautions would be irresponsible on Disney's part. If you think the issue of Disney's liability for this incident is questionable like a few...

From the OS: Gator drags child into Seven Seas Lagoon

I'm not going to argue the credibility of the attorneys in the article, not knowing anything about them. But I wouldn't ask a tax lawyer or a criminal defense attorney for his or her expert legal opinion on animal attack liability, since he or she does not practice in the field. But you...

From the OS: Gator drags child into Seven Seas Lagoon

My choice of phrasing unintentionally implied that is a common occurrence. However, alligators HAVE attacked and harmed people in the past, which makes them a known danger.

    EPCOT gate trouble?

Like the Spirit says, they act like they are going out of business. At the worst, it would lower the profit margins, but the profits would still be insanely high. But Wall Street downgrades any stock that sees a decrease in profits, regardless of the reasons. It really is disgusting that...

    EPCOT gate trouble?

Exactly. This is the problem with technology. When I worked at Six Flags, there was this one time when the system crashed, so they couldn't scan the tickets. So they simply stopped admitting guests. On Broadway, they tear the bar code off the ticket and scan it later if the system fails or...

From the OS: Gator drags child into Seven Seas Lagoon

Yes. Disney knows there are alligators on their property. And there have been instances where these animals have attempted to harm guests. Alligators in general are known to harm or kill people. So the answer is yes. "Forseeability" and "likelihood" are not interchangeable when it comes to...

Cuts coming to every area of parks and resorts - thanks to Shanghai and Paris

Looks like some analysts don't think Shanghai is going to do much overall for the company as a stand-alone business. The real value is the brand awareness. http://www.barrons.com/articles/shanghai-disneyland-could-lose-money-for-years-1465813198...

Can they make a ride without screens?

I know people like to complain about screens, but I don't think animatronics would really work for a lot of these rides. These are parks based on movies, people are going to expect realisitc resemblance to what they see in the movies. None of the screen-based attractions would work as well if...

From the OS: Gator drags child into Seven Seas Lagoon

Don't I know it! It's just baffling, And Disneyland is way worse. People gcould go around spray painting everything in sight and they'll simply ignore it. They'll just give people who complain a free FastPass.

From the OS: Gator drags child into Seven Seas Lagoon

Let me be a little more clear, since I am not always that attentive with my posts when I am at work. Generally, attacks by wild animals not in captivity are governed by the common law rule of animals ferae naturae (i.e., wild-natured). This concept DOES PREVENT property owners from being held...

From the OS: Gator drags child into Seven Seas Lagoon

Disney should have been warning guests about alligators and the danger they pose since the beginning. Let's be realistic, most people probably don't think much about the native wildlife on a vacation, unless that vacation is a national park or a hunting/fishing trip. And they really need to...
