Splash has been there since I was born and feels in line with opening day attractions, so I can see the card artist feeling the same. Heck even Bob Chapek thought it was a 60 year old ride when he signed off on getting rid of it.

When this card was released, Splash Mountain, and everything else on the card, was still open. Not that that really matters either because there’s nothing to read into here.
