Journey of Water featuring Moana coming to Epcot

I guarantee on some of these Hot Disney Summer® days they’ve had this year, guest satisfaction for this would’ve been significantly higher than it’ll be later in the fall. They really missed a good opportunity to open this.

Who's to blame for cheap makeovers

But trying to claim that Midway Mania and Web Slingers are nearly as similar or as close and Baymax and Maters would be… that’s just a dumb and almost trollish argument.

News Pacific Wharf to be Reimagined into San Fransokyo

The worst part is it’s a truss bridge pretending to be a suspension bridge, so they can’t get rid of the tall rounded metal bars on the sides. I think they should’ve built a new bridge but I guess that’s expensive.

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

Most people have no idea that it ever was an acronym decades ago, and the people that do like that it’s a tribute to Walt’s idea. It would make absolutely no sense to force something new.

News TRON Lightcycle Run Standby Line and Lighting Lane status

It’s nothing more than a ploy to sell people who want to ride a second time on lightning lanes. Plenty of other rides would run out quickly during busy times too.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

But Splash Mountain fits well alongside Space Mountain and Thunder Mountain. It’s a very simple and speakable name, like Incredicoaster, or even Mission Breakout. People will never call it Tiana’s Bayou Adventure because it doesn’t roll off the tongue in any way in a sentence… that’s not a...

Star Wars Land announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

Yeah, most people liked The Force Awakens, that’s just a fact. The films after it had much more of a mixed-reception.

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

But even Martin said pre-Covid that the plan was to finish the center pit after Guardians. The order of things seems largely unchanged. I guess a new version of Spaceship Earth could’ve been an exciting final part of it, if that was planned to open along with the festival center, but Guardians...

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

Just from a marketing standpoint, they’ve mismanaged the opening dates of this stuff from the very beginning. In every other project they’ve done, the smaller stuff comes first, then the biggest part opens last with a huge marketing push. And for Pandora and Cars Land, that was very successful...

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

The sum of the new center of the park <= the Sum of All Thrills. We lost a fun ride, and now Rock n Roller Coaster is the only ride that goes upside down at the entire resort.

Journey of Water featuring Moana coming to Epcot

Yeah that’s fair but that’s just one piece of why it may not fit great. Combined with all of the others is what makes it sorely out of place.

Journey of Water featuring Moana coming to Epcot

The new Guardians coaster goes out of its way to pretend to be an Epcot pavilion built by humans in the theme park of Epcot. That’s the premise, and that’s been the premise of all of Epcot. But Journey of Water feels like it was designed by a completely different group of people. This is kind...

    The Miscellaneous Thought Thread

Because everyone who is technically too young for PG13 movies was born in the last 13 years. So Inside Out is the only original PG movie released in their lifetimes that has a ride in the parks (and Frozen is the only one at WDW). This was truly the most miscellaneous thought of all thoughts…...

    The Miscellaneous Thought Thread

Yes of course I meant Disneyland the resort, and I said an original PG movie from the last 13 years. There hasn’t been a PG Star Wars movie since the mid 2000s and it wouldn’t be an original IP anyway. I’m not sure I understand the point of the last question, there wasn’t a new ride in 2010...

    The Miscellaneous Thought Thread

Fun fact, the only ride based on an original PG movie from the last 13 years at Disneyland is Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind.

Slinky Dog Dash vs TRON Lightcycle / Run

No I cannot agree. Slinky Dog has more animatronics than screens and Tron uses a few screens in a way that feels right. Well looking at recent attendance numbers I guess one could conclude that not too many people mind screens.

Does anyone else feel the urgency to visit WDW at this point more than ever?

I won’t address the rude and baseless part of your reply, but regarding The Force Awakens, totally understand if you and the OP didn’t like it. However, that doesn’t change the fact that they do indeed have many post-Frozen hits.

Yeah I’ve seen two drone shows in person and they were very good. But I mean even that video looks cool as hell to me.

News New Haunted Mansion Grounds Expansion, Retail Shop Coming to Disneyland Resort in 2024

They do announce a number of small things for Disneyland at these, but usually they’re about entertainment offerings or stuff like that. I’m guessing they just decided this would’ve been more awkward to speak about on stage than in a press release although I don’t know.
