    WDW Reopening Estimates

I'm still thinking the week of the 14th of June for WDW. It will be the perfect way to complete the reopenings there in FL.

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

When we had some cases in my county, the process was that anyone they were in contact with were contacted and told to get tested and self-quarantine. And that was early April sometime. I guess it depends on the locality.

Universal Puts Disney's Reopening on Defensive

I thought you had people working in the parks, doing the landscaping and so on, during the shutdown! Don't let us down now, Bob.

Universal Puts Disney's Reopening on Defensive

My thinking was along these lines, but shifted one week later to allow for recall of CMs and enough time to ensure adequate staffing. I like your timetable and hope it's that way, but if not, maybe the next week for opening.

Universal Puts Disney's Reopening on Defensive

I think we go the week before that. Sorry about that, it would have been great to fly down together!

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

My thinking is that when WDW makes their presentation this week to the County and State, it will reflect the date most likely gleaned (yeah, I said gleaned!) from the NBA agreement as well. Right now, it looks to be a set up for the NBA like an NCAA tournament, which would make it really...

Universal Puts Disney's Reopening on Defensive

Although a June opening would be nice, if Phase 3 occurs as soon as July, then I agree as well, that opening then would be a no-brainer, also giving time for CMs to almost all be back, as well as what you said with transportation and all.

Universal Puts Disney's Reopening on Defensive

I'm on pins and needles about all this, given we booked mid-August for our trip back to WDW! Hoping things will be in good order at that point, with resorts ready and parks going to some degree!

Universal Puts Disney's Reopening on Defensive

I understand. And what you said right there would even be satisfactory had it come from Disney, instead of what we have now. (and I like that we're having a conversation on this, not sniping and arguing. One thing I hate is arguing, and would never want to argue on here. It would get no one...

Universal Puts Disney's Reopening on Defensive

I agree that the pandemic threw everything into an uproar. But on the other side of things, Disney is not looking like a company that had much of anything planned as to how to handle reopening things. Like I said in a post earlier on the forum, public perception is everything. Universal made...

Universal Puts Disney's Reopening on Defensive

Some people don't have the luxury of going whenever they can. And I do have to agree that this shroud of mystery and lack of any good communication is not what I would expect from a company like Disney. Tell people who stand to spend thousands of dollars while there on vacation what your...

    WDW Reopening Estimates

You can’t keep an economic system like the US shut down indefinitely. It’s simply impossible. You have the choice to stay home if you’re afraid or feel sick, but everyone simply can not shut their businesses down for an indefinite period. It doesn’t work that way.

Universal Puts Disney's Reopening on Defensive

According to what’s been on the news, the presentation must have a date, be it tentative or definite.

Universal Puts Disney's Reopening on Defensive

I'm actually surprised reading the OP, if Disney was caught off-guard. I thought they would have had any number of plans in place, just in case.

Universal Puts Disney's Reopening on Defensive

If Disney's plan all along was not to open until later in August, why drag it out for people and do rolling reservation cancellations, getting people's hopes up if they think their trip would still happen?

Hey, I want those I know and care about to be happy! Just how I roll.

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

I agree. It's one huge no-win for everyone. For me, I'd like to see things start to reopen, because I know people who are close to losing or have lost businesses because of this. It's the most heart-wrenching thing to see someone who's put everything (including heart and emotion) into a...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

Trust me, I understand. I've been to Lowe's and most of the employees (as well as some customers) were not wearing any coverings, nor keeping any kind of distance. Whatever your view of the virus is, there is a reason behind things opening up again, and they need to be followed for this to...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

I know. I've been reading about a lot of this happening. That's what I don't like about the PPP program in that it kept some businesses that maybe shouldn't have stayed open, open. The only things I could think of is to report it to local authorities, since part of them opening again was to...
