Does anyone else feel the urgency to visit WDW at this point more than ever?

I think characterizing the company as being in a "tailspin" is a pretty grand exaggeration. From what I've read, their biggest concern right now is the streaming service(s). Their most recent financial report is publicly displayed on their website: HERE. I have an opinion like everyone else...

Worst Opening Day Attraction Still Open Today

Yes, Pirate Island was formerly TS Island. The fort is still there. They have added pirate touches all over the area. I haven't spent much time there but someone who has has posted about being able to search for coins that are hidden in the area. Interestingly, the Davey Crockett Canoe...

    Disney's Financial Problems

Disclaimer: I am not an expert in business or online subscription services. That having been said, I have an opinion. LOL! From what I have read D+ is not necessarily not PROFITABLE, but is losing subscribers. Why? Well, maybe it's because they are not introducing enough new content to...

    Vegas is like Epcot

I don't think Disney and Vegas are very comparable. Especially in the context of "budget." Disney is a single entity doing things all over the world. Las Vegas has numerous corporate entities (many own more than one casino/resort) so the money is coming from different places. Also, despite...

Worst Opening Day Attraction Still Open Today

Interesting that you're mentioning two attractions that have both changed at DL. Country Bear Jamboree is now the Pooh ride and Tom Sawyer Island has been Pirate Island for years now. Are they improvements? Not really, IMHO.

Who Is Your Favorite Disney Villain.

There are lots of "good" Disney villains. I gotta go with Hades too (as many others here have). He's deliciously evil, but has a great sense of humor. Extremely well cast in James Woods. LOL!

Can Disney World CM use the main gate or comp tickets in Disney japan?

Not sure if you ever got an answer to this outside the forum, but I just interviewed for a position w/Disney and perks were discussed. Main Gate passes are good at all parks worldwide EXCEPT Tokyo Disney Sea (so no to Japan). Hope this helps.

I Might Become A Cast Member!

True dat! Hopefully the formal offer will come within the week period mentioned by the recruiter, but he doesn't control that aspect so yeah...waiting. =]

I Might Become A Cast Member!

I'm commenting on my own post because the Admin moved it and IDK if those following it were notified. Seems buried now. LOL! Anyway, if you were following this thread, I added to it last night. Please see above. =]

I Might Become A Cast Member!

I'll update or comment on this thread regarding my success/failure getting in. I'm pretty excited and optimistic though.

Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith vs TRON Lightcycle / Run

I like both rides but voted Tron here. Love Aerosmith and think the Rockin' Roller Coaster is a solid ride, but I'm more into Tron and the integration of the ride with the Legacy film is cool. The ride simulates the light-cycle battle you see in the film. I love the launch on Tron. It...

I Might Become A Cast Member!

Whelp, I did it! I applied to work in the parks as a Security Cast Member yesterday. This will sound silly, but after working in multiple "careers" during my lifetime (I'm 62), and being semi-retired now, I consider this my "dream job." As a lifelong Disney fan (Like many of you, I grew up...

Disney has an "IP" issue, and not the one we've discussed often

Mostly agree w/you. As I mentioned in my initial comment, Avengers Campus was horribly conceived and is an utterly inadequate representation of the IP.

Disney has an "IP" issue, and not the one we've discussed often

Makes sense, but I'm sure Disney/Marvel have outright ownership to many untapped characters.

Disney has an "IP" issue, and not the one we've discussed often

Why? Licensing? Anything can be negotiated.

Disney has an "IP" issue, and not the one we've discussed often

Many will disagree, but Disney has DEEP content to mine with Marvel. I realize they have produced a lot of content, but I have no doubt there are other $1B film franchises lurking in the vast library of Marvel characters. That could easily lead to new attractions. That said, what Disney has...

    Solo Disney Day

LOL! Ya got me! I have been sorely remiss. <grin> It was September. Honestly, I think they're all great. Admittedly, I haven't ridden enough to hear the whole list, but I'm getting close. September might be my fav so far.

    Solo Disney Day

So, I did a thing. Yesterday I had to deliver my GF to the airport which is about an hour's drive from where I live (Daytona). I'm a passholder this year and really want to make it pay for itself so I made a park reservation at EPCOT, charged up my magic band and headed straight there from the...

    Doing Disney 'light'

There is no question that much fun can be had at Disney Springs. It has really evolved into something special. I have met people there on multiple occasions to get a tiny "Disney fix," which typically includes a stroll through the complex, dinner, and a visit to the World of Disney store...

    Splash Mountain Appreciation Thread

I agree with your comments. At DL, SM is located in Critter Country. The last attraction you see passing out of Orlean's Square is HM, then you hit the Pooh ride (formerly Bear Country Jamboree) on the right, and then SM on the left. I suppose this location NEAR Orlean's Square sort of makes...
