    Family vacation 2019!

This made me laugh ... my 72 year old yoga practicing mother (who is in better shape than anyone else in my extended family no matter the age) would be highly offended if I ever even hinted that a WDW activity might be pushing grandma too hard. One day during our 2012 family trip, she went park...

    Family vacation 2019!

It should be a blast. I was at WDW in 2012 for a 3 generation family trip (6 adults and 3 kids). I have some great memories (and much different than with just adults) of that visit. My advice is to have a general plan of which parks on which days, but don't have too many expectations of what...

    Please critique my general plan!

I agree. I want to go while she still thinks that Mickey and Minnie are still real!

Grand Floridian and Poly to the Pop?

I stayed at the deluxe monorail hotels as a kid and teenager with my family, then stayed at the value resorts in my 20's when that fit my budget, and now that I can afford it, I stay at the deluxe monorail resorts again ... but I loved every visit whether at a deluxe or a value. I suspect you...

    Please critique my general plan!

Smiled when I read this because I also have thought that I can't wait until my daughter (and upcoming son who my wife is pregnant with) will be old enough to do open to close at the parks with me. Actually, I just can't want to take my daughter on her first WDW trip. We cancelled our trip (her...

    Short Trip Itinerary Help, please!

If you will be at MK all day, then I would go for Cali Grill or Narcoossee's for a nice dinner. I would also encourage your godson to try a tame coaster like Big Thunder Mountain. I find that non-coaster people still love some of the tame WDW coasters if they try them.

    First Time Vacation

I recommend a dinner at California Grill followed by watching the fireworks from their outdoor terrace.

    Serial Stroller Thief Caught!

I understand and didn't intend to be poking fun at an 8 year in a stroller, but re-reading my post now I can see how it could be taken that way. Apologies. The intention of my post was to joke about my 2 year old who refuses to go in the stroller.

    Serial Stroller Thief Caught!

What 8 year old would want to be in a stroller? I can't even get my 2 year old to go in the stroller. Yes, it takes us forever to walk anywhere.

Best Places to eat at Universal Orlando

The food at Lombard's is good and the food at Mythos is great, but I have found that service is extremely slow (even for table service) at both places.

To wait or not to wait 2018 vs 2019

Why? My next WDW visit will likely be in 2019. Is there a reason to avoid 2019?

    Is Park hopping exhausting?

I park hopped a few years ago with my 3 nieces and nephews (ages 5, 7 and 10 at the time). We did a bit of park hopping. One day we went to MK in the morning, back to the resort for a break in the afternoon, and then dinner and Illuminations at Epcot in the evening. It was a full day and...

Star Wars All-Inclusive "Star Ship" Resort?

It's certainly possible that I didn't understand the point you were trying to make in your prior post #481. That is why I posed it as a question, instead of a statement. Why don't you clarify what you meant in your post?

Star Wars All-Inclusive "Star Ship" Resort?

So are you saying WDW resorts should have a lower price point so that guests expect less from the employees working at the resorts?

Star Wars All-Inclusive "Star Ship" Resort?

And if guests are willing to pay that price (for whatever their reason), what's wrong with WDW charging grand tourism and luxury prices for "3 star hotel amenities"? I agree with you that WDW deluxe prices do not correspond with the services and amenities offered (other than location), but...

MK Hotel (or not?) in December

The Contemporary defines WDW for me too. It was the first resort I stayed at as a kid and I loved everything about it ... the monorail station in the building, MK being the first stop on the monorail, and breakfast with the characters at the Terrace Buffeteria! When I bring my daughter to WDW...

    Narcoossee's vs Cali grill

The food is great at both, but I would give the edge to CG. The food at CG ranges from very good to amazing ... there was a ravioli dish a CG a few years back that my wife said was one of the best dishes she has ever had. The ambiance/experience is more unique at CG, especially if you stay to...

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

Visiting EPCOT multiple times in the 80s as a kid was awesome. If someone goes to EPCOT for the first time these days, he/she could never imagine what it was like back then. I'm bummed that my daughter will likely never get to experience anything like the EPCOT I grew up with.
