Are smart phones essential at the parks?

If you're saying that RotR can be ridden more than twice a day *now*, that's not true. Boarding groups are still "selling out" in seconds preventing many from getting one; even though they're opening boarding groups twice a day, they still only allow each person to have at most one BG each day...

Quarantine from NY, NJ, CT Ends

Just throwing out some purely anecdotal thoughts-- I've got friends, coworkers, and family that live in the North East (Armonk/Ballston Spa/Saratoga Springs/The City, NY; Saddlebrook, NJ; Providence, RI; New London/Groton/Mystic, CT) most of whom love to travel and enjoy going to various places...

On layoffs, very bad attendance, and Iger's legacy being one of disgrace

As long as the attraction is operating, being able to ride everything isn't a problem -- except for RotR. Generally you can ride things multiple times - all thanks (?) to the current low attendance. I didn't think they had opened the Beach Club yet and had delayed it indefinitely (The DVC there...

POLL: When are you planning to return to Walt Disney World?

We were at DL March 8th just before they closed; went to WDW and UOR from 11-19 July and had the best trip that either my wife or I can remember in the past 15 - 20 years. Scheduled to go back at the end of August, then again October 1st.

Do you think that Disney world will reclose its gates due to the rising number of COVID cases in Florida and around the country?

just a couple of points here: you’re right- layoffs are coming, and probably in a big way. But to think that business should just keep staff furloughed is short sighted; while furloughed, the business is still paying certain benefits including healthcare. At some point they won’t be able to...

News Walt Disney World's COVID-19 reopening plans announced - July 11

It is what you get out of it. I was there last week, and arrived at both Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios a 15-30 minutes before they opened, and left as they closed. Spent the full day at both parks, and had a great time. Epcot was a different story (arrived at opening, left about 6pm)...

Do you think that Disney world will reclose its gates due to the rising number of COVID cases in Florida and around the country?

Epcot was fine. Just the size of the park plus the low crowd meant that it felt dead. No lines at all for the F&W kiosks. and the construction was very off putting.

Do you think that Disney world will reclose its gates due to the rising number of COVID cases in Florida and around the country?

We did not need them. But we also targeted UO for mid week (instead of the weekend) to minimize the crowds. At MK, all of fantasy land was effectively walk on - seven dwarfs posted 20 minutes, actual 5-7; Peter Pan the same.

Do you think that Disney world will reclose its gates due to the rising number of COVID cases in Florida and around the country?

Have to agree here for the most part-- We just spent a week here in Orlando - went to Disney Springs, City Walk (even took in a couple of movies), Magic Kingdom, Disney Studios, Epcot, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and watched the Seaworld fireworks from our hotel balcony. Even with...

Do you think that Disney world will reclose its gates due to the rising number of COVID cases in Florida and around the country?

Do you think that Disney world will reclose its gates due to the rising number of COVID cases in Florida and around the country?

I believe the CDC gets their death numbers once the death certificates are processed. The local data (I believe) is likely provided earlier before the certificate is completed/filed/registered/whatever. For example, person dies in hospital, hospital reports using COVID NET to get the data out...

Do you think that Disney world will reclose its gates due to the rising number of COVID cases in Florida and around the country?

This is not true-- Restaurants have been open here in Georgia since the end of April. We did not experience any major uptick when they did open. We did see a major spike when bars opened (which is why they're now closed again).

Do you think that Disney world will reclose its gates due to the rising number of COVID cases in Florida and around the country?

Yep. Whether you like it or not, or whether it helps or not is irrelevant at this point. Anyone going to WDW (over the age of 2) will be wearing a mask. We can stop beating the horse --- it's dead.

Do you think that Disney world will reclose its gates due to the rising number of COVID cases in Florida and around the country?

This study is still about PPE and N45 masks. It wasn't conducted with non-medical grade equipment. They DO talk about consumer face masks being used pragmatically, but DON'T quantify the efficacy of them. It's probable they're better than nothing, but no studies have been done to that effect...
