And that's why when the prize is something I want, when I buy the map, I do it at a redemption location and just ask for the prize right there. The map doesn't have to be done right, so they just stamp it redeemed and we give them to the kids to play w/ the stickers.

I can't speak to hotels b/c I stay off property, but if you can't there, there is a storefront in Disney Springs for Ticket Services that you can do it at. I usually do it at DS when we arrived if I didn't want to wait until we were walking into a park.
