Mickey’s 90th Anniversary, A Total Bust (For Disneyland)

Younger generations know Mickey as an icon/symbol but otherwise largely have little knowledge of the films, comics, tv shows, etc. he has been in. He's a mascot to people moreso than a character. Superman is also pushing that boundary of the cliché surface level aspects of the character...

News Star Wars Galaxy's Edge Disneyland opening reports/reviews

Is there "greenery" that just needs time to grow in a bit? It wasn't until the last couple days that this criticism has cropped up, so I am not too informed about the landscaping re: plants/trees. As for droids and characters walking around - one would hope that once the tweaks to how the land...

What's with the wait times!? (hint.. they're low)

Summer has been the offseason for Disneyland for several years now. Add extra capacity and people fearing long lines with a brand new land, and BINGO - ideal conditions. It's gonna be slammed in October, though.

News Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Historical Construction/Impressions

Wait - you saw it from the freeway and made a final judgment about a land you have yet to set foot in? The eye rolls you inspire could be a new renewable energy.

Disneyland to customers: Visit us now! Ahora! That means NOW! Please?

It also reminds me of "Carmageddon" for the LA freeways a few years ago. They promoted so heavily that the freeways would be closed due to construction on a certain day that the freeways without construction were virtually empty, and one could get almost anywhere in the greater LA area in 15...

What's with the wait times!? (hint.. they're low)

When the restaurant shows up I suspect they'll err on having capacity and scale back somewhat the show elements from the original plans.

    Rumor Fantasyland Expansion

The phrase you're looking for is "where there's smoke there's fire" which is neutral to the good/bad result of the rumors. In this case, though, there's barely a single puff of smoke, and it's of the loco weed.

News Star Wars Galaxy's Edge Disneyland opening reports/reviews

To be fair, Slytherin isn't outright evil, even if those that are evil often come from that house. But there's a lot of Slytherin students that aren't trying to rule the world. Sith, on the other hand, are nothing but genocidal world-domineering baddies. I remember that video, too. It was...

News Star Wars Galaxy's Edge Disneyland opening reports/reviews

This is the one theming issue as-adjusted for the parks that I generally agree with. At least have the dialogue state that they hope those who chose the path of the Sith will reorient their efforts for the good side of the force in the future, or something along those lines. People who choose...

It suffers from the same over-pronunciation that the Ollivanders presentation does at WWoHP. A little more subtlety / straightforward style would be less corny.

Ain't nobody got time for that. I have hundreds of movies and dozens of games to get to in addition to theme park enjoyment. :D

This just clinched that I'll likely get an R unit, as it seems far easier to control.

What's with the wait times!? (hint.. they're low)

The last week of June is the true opening. We'll see how a lack of reservations changes the demand. Personally, I'd go sometime this week if I could get into GE, but I can't. So I might as well wait for when my friend and his son visit LA the last weekend in July.

What's with the wait times!? (hint.. they're low)

True, but at least half the country will be going to Florida for the SW:GE experience once theirs opens in August. June and July in LA might get some East coast visitors they normally wouldn't have.

What's with the wait times!? (hint.. they're low)

Don't forget that the park closes at 6pm today, so that likely kept even more people at home who saw the open hours were shorter than usual.

What's with the wait times!? (hint.. they're low)

It definitely had a lot to do with getting the system and cast members more familiarity with how to run the land. It also bought them a few more weeks to get the new parking structure ready.

I believe the three types are Resistance, First Order, and Smuggler. No idea if, say, the R-Series Smuggler is different than the BB-Series Smuggler, but I would think so, at least to some degree.

News Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Historical Construction/Impressions

Seems a lot like the journey through Death Star 2 in the RotJ clip. (I realize I edited my statement to include that comment while you were writing your response). It doesn't make any sense that the Falcon POV would match the X-Wing's, but it does. It's a space fantasy. At a certain point you...

News Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Historical Construction/Impressions

To be fair, it often feels that way in the films, too. See, for example, at 3 mins in this clip of the RotJ battle. Also, later in the clip when they are inside the Death Star 2 and their viewing angle is identical to X-Wing ones. This is arguably the greatest space battle in cinematic...
