Trip Report "You have to book a time to buy a popcorn bucket?!" A one-day Epcot Festival of the Arts adventure - Completed

We had a few more pictures taken and ate a few more things. Our last round of eating was at a couple of places. Up first, Gourmet Landscapes in Canada. We tried the wild mushroom risotto with aged parmesan, truffle shavings, and zinfandel reduction along with the gnocchi poutine and blood...

Trip Report "You have to book a time to buy a popcorn bucket?!" A one-day Epcot Festival of the Arts adventure - Completed

I can't quite remember the timeline of events, but at some point we made our way to the front of the park. There were photopass photographers in many places. Some good, some not so good. This was a new experience. I think it works better as a group. After taking a few pictures, we...

Definitely the stomach drop and as for heights, at one point you're looking down into the ride from high up, so maybe, but it's dark and you can't see the bottom. I really can't remember about the drops. I'm afraid of heights, but this didn't bother me.

The Deconstructed Dish is right next to the previous booth heading towards Canada. Here, I had wanted to try the Deconstructed French Onion Soup with beef broth ravioli, gruyere cream, onion bread pudding, and onion textures. I believe that's fried cheese on the top, which isn't mentioned...

I don't really remember what was next, but we were probably out of the ride by at least 10:30. Our first stop was Figment's Inspiration Station at the Odyssey. Here you can find more beer than other festival locations. We tried the Rainbow Cake made with freeze-dried skittles and the 81Bay...

Our Epcot day strategy: 1. Make sure our app is updated and know where to find the virtual queue. Go through the steps to reserve. 2. Set alarms to wake up before 7 am. 3. Decide what time to leave the room to walk over to the International Gateway. 4. Me deciding what to wear because...

Trip Report "You have to book a time to buy a popcorn bucket?!" A one-day Epcot Festival of the Arts adventure - Completed

Saturday night's dinner was Il Mulino. If you've read any of our past trip reports or asked an opinion about Italian on property, we've always raved about Il Mulino. It still is the best on property. If you're at Epcot, don't eat Italian there. Take a short walk or boat to Il Mulino. Your...

Trip Report "You have to book a time to buy a popcorn bucket?!" A one-day Epcot Festival of the Arts adventure - Completed

I just realized I forgot to add our Yachtsman meal. We've always like eating here and while the food was good as usual, the service left something to be desired. They were super busy, which I get, but about 30 minutes had gone by and we had to ask for bread service. We ordered NY Strip...

Trip Report "You have to book a time to buy a popcorn bucket?!" A one-day Epcot Festival of the Arts adventure - Completed

Our room was ready mid-afternoon at Boardwalk, which was surprisingly early. We booked really late, so wasn't surprised at a run-of-the-house room. We ended up on the 1st floor right outside the elevator in a HA room. This room was in desperate need of a refurb. It still has a ceiling fan...

Trip Report "You have to book a time to buy a popcorn bucket?!" A one-day Epcot Festival of the Arts adventure - Completed

We pull up to AKL security and there's a bit of a line. Kidani Village is a bit crowded and Sanaa was very busy. It was the busiest we've ever seen it and quite loud. Bread service is always a must. It came out quick. We usually order the Potjie Inspired with butter chicken and Chickpea...

Trip Report "You have to book a time to buy a popcorn bucket?!" A one-day Epcot Festival of the Arts adventure - Completed

After a good night's sleep, we decided to just relax because check out is at 11 am. 8:30 am - housekeeping - yes, we are still in the room. I get it. They want to turn over the room. Disney, just let me enjoy this room for a couple more hours. I guess around 10, we decided to hit Disney...

I had been tracking the traffic getting closer to Florida. Our goal was get an ADR when we hit the GA/FL line. Our estimated arrival time was about 6:30 PM and then it jumped up to 7:30 PM. I look at the map and the IS SO MUCH RED. Even if we tried to take another route, the toll conglomerate...

Trip Report "You have to book a time to buy a popcorn bucket?!" A one-day Epcot Festival of the Arts adventure - Completed

It's because the traffic gods hate us. No kidding. We had been tracking the weather and of course the coldest weather would be Saturday and Sunday. Saturday was in the 50s and Sunday in the 60s. We were counting on some pool time on Saturday and even the kids weren't in the pools. That means...

Talk about a last-minute trip... These guys, dressed in their best winter gear, because it was cold: About a week before we decided we wanted to get away for MLK since we have a long weekend. Sean starts to look for DVC availability for 2 nights. It's a long shot, right. All DVCers know you...

Trip Report We took the Wish for a spin! COMPLETE

I can understand wanting to avoid. We really wanted to do a 3-night over a holiday. However, the only port within driving distance for a DCL 3-day is Canaveral. Since it's just the Wish sailing 3-days out of PC, it's a no-go. If it had been any other ship, we would have booked it. If you...

Trip Report We took the Wish for a spin! COMPLETE

We don't have another Disney one planned any time soon. We had considered the Magic out of New Orleans in April for spring break, but the Celebrity Apex is one of the newest ships and offered an itinerary at the same time, so we chose that one instead. Our next cruise is in December, the week...

No idea, but it could have also been a huge glass and the pour looked small. I honestly can't remember. The picture makes it look tiny.

Trip Report We took the Wish for a spin! COMPLETE

You know, I want to like sparkling wine, but it does not agree with my stomach. However, I did have some actual champagne in a cocktail on a cruise (maybe celebrity) and my stomach didn't feel terrible afterwards. Maybe it's the champagne grape. That's what I meant. Disney has a way of...

I did think of that, then said, wouldn't Disney have real champagne for a fancy ship. Guess that's a nope.

Trip Report We took the Wish for a spin! COMPLETE

I'll wrap this up by saying we had a good time. We enjoyed the new ship and the new offerings. Will we be in a rush to come back? No. I've read so many reviews that start out with "it's a beautiful ship, but..." I feel exactly the same. It just didn't live up to the hype or any of the other...
