Rumor Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

Did they tear up the tile flooring, planters, ramps, railing and carpets as well? Or did they just remove the kiosks and other theming? They'd basically need to rebuild all new scenery regardless. Even the theater would pretty much need to be entirely redone to look suitably like Inside Out's...

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

The problem again is that the specific issues that are being levied against Tiana are by and large issues that are not going to change or become better by riding it in person. The number of AA's is not going to magically go up if I am physically sitting in the boat, all of those areas that used...

News Big Thunder Mountain to receive full retrack

Except that the Epcot comparison is accurate. Just not the 3 month Chinese airport timeline. Disney does in fact move stupidly slow on construction projects. Universal is a decent modern day analogy.

Rumor Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

I don't think it matters if the pavilion was gutted. And they probably did remove a lot of remaining stuff in prep for the Play pavilion overlay. Incidentally, I believe WOL's roof was fully replaced between 2018-2020. So there's a good chance they fixed any instances of leaking that may have...

Rumor Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

Indeed, I was also going to mention how the various kiosks in the main lobby would work perfectly for the various islands. I mean, talk about a stupidly obvious and easy win to use Inside Out there...

News Big Thunder Mountain to receive full retrack

As much as I frequently criticize Disney's horrifically slow rate of construction, China absolutely isn't the standard anyone should be holding Disney to. And hopefully I shouldn't really have to explain why. If they only spent a month or two to replace the entire track, I'd automatically...

Rumor Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

If Inside Out has to go into Epcot, only WOL makes any damn sense. It could be done relatively easily, cheaply and quickly. And it probably wouldn't be considered a negative for many people. Would also restore some of the park's lost capacity. Assuming the pavilion is still in good enough...

News Big Thunder Mountain to receive full retrack

When a coaster is being constructed from scratch, pylons and track are the first thing built. And they do test runs before the scenery goes in as well while all of the track structure is easiest to access in case there are any issues that are discovered and need fixing. Then they cover it with...

News Big Thunder Mountain to receive full retrack

That permit is just for track work though, isn't it? It doesn't necessarily encompass other elements that might be addressed. Like repairs or updates to surrounding scenery, repainting and potential new effects.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

It depends on what you consider "significant". Do you mean significant from a plot perspective, or significant from a motion perspective? There are a total of 14 true animatronic figures in TBA (grand total including all duplicates, and these are all returning characters from the film), ones...

News Country Bear Jamboree is getting new songs and acts

UNM was very unpopular, while the original Tiki Room was still very popular over at Disneyland. Seemed like a decently easy and cheapish solution to change it back again. Especially since they never bothered to restore the old fountain sadly... Maybe someday the original CBJ will come back too...

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure Virtual Queue and Lighting Lane status

I'm not even going to try to get a reservation until they manage to get this thing working with some basic degree of consistency (which at this rate could be fall or even winter). Far too many breakdowns for my taste to bother with right now.

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

Probably because it IS quite a bit of both. There's a complicated backstory in the queue. Except that it doesn't really apply to anything in the actual ride whatsoever after the first drop (I disagree with those who say it does). I'm not even criticizing the ride for this as I prefer rides that...

News Disney plans to accelerate Parks investment to $60 billion over 10 years

Pretty sure that's exactly what I was saying. Disney just doesn't want to commit to building anything, they don't care whether the plans are viewed as lousy or not. It's largely a matter of convincing the board to spend money, which is increasingly difficult to do.

News Disney plans to accelerate Parks investment to $60 billion over 10 years

People not liking any of the projects doesn't change the fact that Disney doesn't want to actually commit to anything and are into jerking everyone around. Also not particularly convinced they actually care all that much whether people like their announcements, they tend to just do what they...

News Disney plans to accelerate Parks investment to $60 billion over 10 years

I am indeed talking actual rides. Despite having AMPLE expansion space at WDW, Disney has far too often chosen the path of ignoring said space and instead gutting and repurposing things that they shouldn't be messing with. Other entertainment as of late also has some problems though. None of...

News Disney plans to accelerate Parks investment to $60 billion over 10 years

I didn't look through their posting history. Regardless, I stand by my comment about said sentiment, divorced from the other person. Disney has made a lot of promises that have come and gone with nothing to show for it.

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

The way Louis' eyes continue to roll around while the rest of him is frozen is hilarious. You know what this means though. Since so much is broken in the ride, they HAVE to retheme it again. Not my rule, it's just how it is. That was one of the main reasons why its predecessor had to go after...

News Disney plans to accelerate Parks investment to $60 billion over 10 years

I think the general sentiment is to call out Disney for not settling on something after years of jerking people around with empty promises. And many of their "investments" are also more often akin to a game of musical chairs with the way they like to replace existing entertainment, rather than...
