News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

While I don’t think it will matter much for the election (since the national environment is gonna be very bad for the Dems and very good for the GOP), this does have the potential to be a real unforced error that es off suburban swing voters in the Orlando area. This makes it a real...

News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

There has been some really solid political analysis. Some really smooth brained stuff too on Disney moving WDW as if that is plausible. Again this is likely a short-term win for DeSantis and nothing of permanence is going to come from this. Think the obvious thing for Disney to react is to...

Do you not know that a publicly traded company is still a private entity?

I think you can and should easily blame Chapek for the whole mess. The whole episode should be taught as a case study in college media relations classes for what not to do in a PR crisis situation. Every move was too late and/or not forceful enough. Disney somehow managed to off everyone...

News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

This is such an extremely dumb and nakedly political move. I almost admire DeSantis' cojones here. But it is not well thought out at all. What do you expect from ideologues who only can only see the day's controversy right in front of them, with no thought or care to the long-term impact of...

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind SPOILER Thread

In terms of spinning, I don't think it's anything like Crush's at all. It's a precisely controlled rotation showcasing the show scenes and around the turns/coaster elements instead of freely spinning. I think that is the actual new tech in the ride, the ride vehicles themselves.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind SPOILER Thread

Disney coasters really range from family coasters that don’t vary that much intensity wise to one high thrill coaster (that would be mid-level intensity at a regional park).Because of that I think it A. makes it difficult to describe differences in the common language of Disney attractions...

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind SPOILER Thread

This seems to indicate that there is some substantial, impressive projection effects in the main ride portion. Interesting that he says it’s not really even like a coaster, more like a fast moving Doom Buggy. I’m all for criticizing Disney when appropriate (which is plenty often), but maybe...

News Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind attraction confirmed for Epcot

Think the ride will no doubt be excellent and one of the most popular on property. Gotta say as a big coaster fan, the move towards more coasters this past decade by Disney and Universal has been really exciting and very fruitful with some incredible attractions.

News Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser coming to Walt Disney World 2021

I do wonder what the cost to build/operate was and is. At the prices they are charging, I imagine it won't take very long for this to be in the black. But then again, Disney construction costs are always astronomical.

News Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser coming to Walt Disney World 2021

It looks good, but no way is it worth that price point. And yes, totally ridiculous it is not fully inclusive for that insane price.

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

No way to reasonably enforce. Either you require masks for everyone or, in practicality, require them for no one.

News Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Hours coming for resort guests

Would make a lot of sense to have it at each park one day a week Monday through Thursday. I think DAK ever getting it is a coin flip though.

News Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind attraction confirmed for Epcot

It's always surprising to me how fast landscaping comes together on attractions/lands. It's really not a ton of intensive work once you have all the materials but it's probably on the single biggest visual thing that is done in such a short amount of time.

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

Not sure if you can cancel IAS but that would seem to be the logical explanation: someone with earlier return times canceled and freed up that return time (albeit, a limited amount).

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

Sorry if this has been answered, but do we know if there is specific return time (or choice of return time) for IAS passes? In terms of how Genie+ will practically work I'm gonna guess that at 7 AM everyday there will be a mad-dash to book anything popular. Probably will have to try for a BG...

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

I do think it’s being overstated how much more stressful it will be. Seems relatively simple in practice, assuming the UI is decent (may be a big assumption). Unless you are actually using Genie as a guide to where you should go next, it really shouldn’t be that more time on the phone then...

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

Yeah I think this actually works out decently well for off-site stays (especially if you're not into rope-drop). It's similar to the system previously, with less of the attractions being Tier 1's that are snatched up by those who can book earlier and getting to book your first LL at the same...
