    Tom Sawer Island closing date

IOA was their first real foray into truly themed entertainment, as opposed to the Studio parks which are a bit more just "ride the movies" with some window dressing. It is a great park and I would argue still largely better than most of Disney's latest international theme parks. Harry Potter I...

New Enhancements, Dining Options Coming to Disney’s BoardWalk

I've heard for years that there's a deal in place with Swolphin which requires Disney to operate a nightclub on property, which is why it's there (still). If profits were the only parameter, Mannequins would still be there.

New Enhancements, Dining Options Coming to Disney’s BoardWalk

Sure but there’s a ton of venues on property that used to exist which now are solely for weddings and events. It’s open four days a week til 1:30am. Most nights never have more than 25-30 people. It can’t be a money making endeavor.

New Enhancements, Dining Options Coming to Disney’s BoardWalk

Yeah they definitely marketed it as a fun night-time destination on par with Downtown Disney when it opened, with Jellyrolls, ESPN and ADP being late-night options. Now they don't market it really, which is good because you couldn't really get there unless you took Disney transportation. The...

    Lightning Lane Premier Pass

From what I've heard now, it's clear this new offering will be extremely limited. They'll also seemingly be updating the inventory for LLMP to compensate for these new passes. The re-tooling of DAS was a big step in making these LLs more manageable so that people didn't feel ripped off when...

New Enhancements, Dining Options Coming to Disney’s BoardWalk

It's been incredibly successful (and well reviewed) in Indiana and I think would do just fine here if they didn't make the pricing so dizzying.

    Lightning Lane Premier Pass

Well VIP tours can fit up to 10 people for the cost. Aside from that the personalized guide, transportation backstage, ability to re-ride and show viewing, they probably feel that because VIP tours caters to a different audience. Also anecdotally I’ve heard that bookings are not what they were...

News Disney plans to reboot Voyage of the Little Mermaid stage show at Disney's Hollywood Studios

Streets of America was originally off-limits to guests and I think he intent was to use it for production. Residential Street, as you say, was mostly used for some establishing shots. Even on shows like The Golden Girls, which were heavily featured on the Backlot Tour, nearly all of the...

New Enhancements, Dining Options Coming to Disney’s BoardWalk

Pricing is about 30% more across the board so it's not really "close to the same pricing."

New Enhancements, Dining Options Coming to Disney’s BoardWalk

True but B&C requires reservations in advance 90% of the time. This presumably won’t.

New Enhancements, Dining Options Coming to Disney’s BoardWalk

in this uproar over $8 for a coke how has nobody mentioned $78 for a charcuterie appetizer?!

New Enhancements, Dining Options Coming to Disney’s BoardWalk

Right but that’s where the miss is. An upscale casual place you can get great all day food and good dessert after the parks would be a win. This seems to be a miss because it’s not really a market they have at WDW.

New Enhancements, Dining Options Coming to Disney’s BoardWalk

It’s a shame because I think if their prices were down to earth there is a market for a casual spot with good food around here. I know many people who’d love to visit after Luminous for some snacks and dessert, but not at those prices.

New Enhancements, Dining Options Coming to Disney’s BoardWalk

Boardwalk has Flying Fish and Trattoria al Forno, neither of which are patronized by a vast majority of BWI guests. However, I think you'll find a lot more people willing to pay $58 for a signature restaurant filet at dinner than $32 for a burger for breakfast/lunch.

    Hurricane Milton coming to FL

What? Of course nobody brought laptops to the parks. People did bring laptops on trips to have access to a computer. By the end of 2003 every Disney hotel above value tier had ethernet access, which cost $9.95 for the day.

    Hurricane Milton coming to FL

Lots of people traveled with laptops too and all the rooms had at least ethernet connections by then.

New Enhancements, Dining Options Coming to Disney’s BoardWalk

So I was around for this trial. Magic Kingdom was running a test (they may have tried it resort wide) to see if they were able to increase sales volume by reducing prices. It proved ineffective and went away after the initial trial.

    Article: How The Mouse Stumbled........

Having worked both in the parks and in Team Disney in Burbank, I can tell you that this article is 100% right in how the company looks down upon true fans of the brand, particularly as it relates to employment on the corporate level. On the parks side, nobody really cares if you're a fan or not...

New Enhancements, Dining Options Coming to Disney’s BoardWalk

What's really missing from this whole area is a casual bar/restaurant you can just walk up to without needing a reservation 30+ days in advance. Yes they have walk-up lists but they're unreliable.
