News Country Bear Jamboree is getting new songs and acts

“Here in Florida, we have something special we never temporarily enjoyed at Disneyland... the blessing of Bears. There's enough Jamboree here to hold all the IP and tie-ins we can possibly imagine." --Walt Disney

    Article: How The Mouse Stumbled........

This sentence jumped out at me. According to two former corporate employees, the company eschews hiring what one referred to as “superfans,” viewing a love for the brand as “a huge turnoff.” I think it goes a long way towards explaining what they have done with the parks in recent years. They...

News Test Track to be reimagined

It's much harder to sell people's memories back to them if what they remember is still there to be experienced.

News Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

I'm sure the Disney company uses different criteria than I would for planning their theme park "expansions". That said, if locating something "beyond" Big Thunder is a dealbreaker for the "beyond Big Thunder" project, shouldn't that be seen as a huge red flag?

News Disney plans to reboot Voyage of the Little Mermaid stage show at Disney's Hollywood Studios

I thought Frozen 2 was mixed bag. The story was very uneven. On the other hand, I really like Lost in the Woods, and I've heard Into the Unknown so many times that it has grown on me. Unlike The Little Mermaid, which is an inarguable classic. (On topic. Nailed it!)

News Test Track to be reimagined

I like where your head is at filling in the lagoon. Talk about a waste of valuable real estate. But will those canopies generate lightning lane and merch revenue?

News 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

My former employer, a major media company, built a large screening room with dual laser projectors for Dolby 3D and bought over a hundred glasses. They held exactly one test screening, and never again. Most of the boxes of glasses were never even opened.

That's my favorite Walt quote, though I'm surprised you didn't include his passionate defense of ROI and revenue optimization.

To paraphrase a poignant Queen song... "If there's a (Walt) in the sky looking down what can he think of what we've done to the World that he created?"

I guess fill in the sides of the arch if you need to and hope the building is far enough back that it isn't visible? Honestly, I'm not there often enough to really know all the sightlines.

News Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

Please let me explain my thinking here. The central conceit of both the films and the ride is the doors which connect their world to ours. This isn't Toy Story Land, where you can get away with an open pathway. Not having some kind of doorway breaks immersion on a fundamental level. The...

News Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

My first trip in 2011 it was still operating this way, though I heard it was just people hand-drawing animation cels to be sold as merch by that point. This was after the film where Mushu took you through the animation process.

News Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

Thematically, there has to be an entrance into the Monster world. The logical move would be to convert the arch into some kind of massive industrial doorway. I envision it as a set of open sci-fi blast doors, but they may well have a different aesthetic in mind.

News Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

I don't think that's true. (Although, I suppose it depends on your definition of sliver.) I think most here would grudgingly accept a plan that docked the riverboat, widened the lower island and reclaimed it, and filled everything north of it. Basically a 'smile' of water from Big Thunder to...
