    Big honkin’ pile of dirt.

They are expanding the parking lot. The pile has to do with drainage, etc.

how long are you willing to wait for a ride?

90 minutes for new rides, maybe. I won't get in a line over 30 minutes most days. It also depends on how the rest of the day goes. Most days I'll pass on FOP if it's over 60 minutes, but if we've done everything else, I might wait 90. But for rides like 7DMT? 30 minutes.

the "economics of Disney " right now..

So true. I worked for a Fortune 100 company during the start of the pandemic. They laid off a bunch of people, mostly senior level, and then came back with a scalpel to pick apart teams. I had a $500 million dollar portfolio of brands, and lost my VP, and 7 people on my team. I was literally...

the "economics of Disney " right now..

Might I ask where you are from that you haven't been able to go anywhere for 2 years? Was this self-imposed or what? It hasn't been that way in the Georgia/Florida. I agree there is a surge of people that just want to do things, but this is also sadly part of the new norm. I don't like it one...

Cost of going to DW waaaay too high.

Yep, we cut back a few years ago to only do MNSSHP, and a few days at the parks with the family. Without a real HW party, we just did 5 days at the park this year. True story, season passes to: Six Flags, Universal, Lego, SeaWorld, GatorLand, Aquarium, Zoo, Museum (with access to almost all...

    DisneyQuest 2.0 replace NBA Experience?

I'm hoping for a huge Dave & Buster's, I think it would be amazing there.

Disney forcing us to $pend even more at their re$ort$

We are DVC members, so we are obviously the wrong demo, but the prices to stay onsite are absurd. When we aren't using points, I can tell you we have only ever paid to stay onsite ONCE, and that was at CBR when they were being renovated. I always peek when booking, because I am curious, but...

    Reservation Question for the pros...

Yeah I don’t trust the system at all right now.

    Reservation Question for the pros...

I dropped a note to guest services, hopefully they may reply. We are pondering options! One of their friends was still employed at Disney until the layoffs! Shoutout for a decade of sweet comps and fast passes! :-)

    Reservation Question for the pros...

We have three 70+ year old Disney opening day people with us, they asked to try to have a time to sit down. If it was just us and the kids, we wouldn’t even have reservations because we are cheapskates! Lol

    Reservation Question for the pros...

The only thing we are accomplishing is celebrating the In-laws, honestly. It's their day. It's MIL's bday, too. If this was a once in a lifetime trip, I'd stress more about leaving. I may keep it until I have to make the call to cancel. I keep checking for something to open up, but it just...

    Reservation Question for the pros...

It wasn't possible on the first moment reservations were available. The only things available after about 9 seconds was at the Contemporary or WL. Lol.

Let's have a bit of a laugh. What restaurant do you secretly enjoy that everyone else thinks you're nuts for?

My kids love Rainforest Café, and so do my wife and I. It is just a family tradition to eat there and wait for the volcano to erupt. One of my kids religiously watches his watch and will make a point to try to see it erupt.

    Biergarten?

Will be there next week, can't wait! One of my kids is most excited about grabbing one of those giant pretzels, though...

    Reservation Question for the pros...

We will be at WDW next week for the 50th. My in-laws were opening day cast members, and that's where they met. Reservations were crazy hard to get, as you know. For 10/1, they absolutely wanted to be at MK, and I just couldn't get any reservation for an combination of party size in our group...

    Haunted Attractions

When I was younger, a group of us would make the rounds for the big attractions. The big one here in ATL area is Netherworld, it is consistently rated as one of the top in the country. I haven't been in a few years, but this year my oldest will be 13-1/2, and he wants to go. My wife hates these...

If Disney wants to "lower Attendance" then Build a 5th Park..

Disney could ramp up the on-resort amenities so more people spend a day in the resorts. Resort pools are ghost towns during the day. (we will sometimes stay onsite and not even go to a parik). I can speak from experience that quite often we don't do ANYTHING at the resort if we are visiting...

    Phone wait times

What I don't get about the phone wait times is this is the easiest thing to staff up. These people don't even have to work in an office. I have let the phone just go for well over an hour trying get in touch with a human. It's frustrating when your issue is "urgent" as in related to a...

WDW As The Only Vacation Option: Why?

WDW certainly isn't the only option for us, but we are DVC and there is a ton of stuff to do in Orlando, and we have friends and family there. It's familiar and comfortable for us. We get passes to LegoLand, SeaWorld, Gatorland, museum, etc, and rotate a military 5 or 6 day ticket to WDW or...

    Uber/Lyft at HHN

Thanks. Just trying to get a vibe if we'd be in for a lengthy wait. And yes, at close of HHN.
