News Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind attraction confirmed for Epcot

I can’t believe “opening in 2022, don’t ask us when” is really an announcement. I’ve been very forgiving of the pandemic-related delay pushing both Tron and Guardians back, but that was always with the presumption they’d be ready for summer 2022. This shouldn’t be news, or something we’re still...

News Reflections of Earth confirmed to be replaced by Harmonious

Speaking of no-brainer IP integrations, I'm stunned they didn't fast-track an Encanto segment, as the signature song is clearly a banger. Could have lifted it straight from the soundtrack. Hopefully Harmonious follows in World of Color's footsteps in that it'll be updated periodically. Given...

News Reflections of Earth confirmed to be replaced by Harmonious

Every ticket at La Cantina that includes a taco plate and margarita is ~$30, and that's not even looking at the TS restaurants or margarita stand. Big win for the Mexico pavilion!

On the bright side, the operators of La Cantina de San Angel must be appreciating the subliminal increase in taco sales.

News New Park Entrance coming to Epcot

Seriously. I don't want to ride WDW's monorails anymore, lest I get stuck on the next major breakdown. Even exiting and entering the stations feels like it takes exponentially longer than it used to. So much clunky braking. But the lighting after dark is cool now, so yay!

News Reflections of Earth confirmed to be replaced by Harmonious

That’s my big issue. I could more easily accept how it flows (or doesn’t) if there was something memorable bookending the show. Kicking off with Circle of Life / Vuelie and concluding with Hunchback isn’t it.

News Reflections of Earth confirmed to be replaced by Harmonious

It’s so confusing, as the best parts of HEA (to me) were always the beginning and the end. The individual segments were solid too, but that’s where most of the punch was. Even the projections were just icing - HEA was good despite them. Seems like Disney has learned all the wrong lessons from it.

News Reflections of Earth confirmed to be replaced by Harmonious

I get why you feel that way, I really do. But for many of the locals in their 20s and 30s who’ve had a garbage year (including when DL was closed, of course), the show’s sheer positivity and energy somehow feel right. Maybe it’s also because I like to dance (while disliking how obnoxious the...

News Reflections of Earth confirmed to be replaced by Harmonious

Honestly, my inner curmudgeon wants to hate MMM (the “are you ready to da-a-a-a-ance?” at the start is laughable), then the actual mix starts and I can’t help but love it. Grim Grinning Ghosts into Un Poco Loco into Let It Go is just fantastic, and by the end I’m genuinely having a great time...

News Reflections of Earth confirmed to be replaced by Harmonious

The final arrangement (not post-show, but the show finale) isn’t pop-like at all. Very orchestral. It was absolutely what I want from a traditional Disney nighttime spectacular. Also, if that’s your sentiment about HEA, it might pain you to hear Mickey’s Mix Magic at DL has completely grown on...

News Reflections of Earth confirmed to be replaced by Harmonious

The soundtrack was fantastic. Great throughline, impactfully used at the beginning, end, and as the post-show song. The dual endings (Go the Distance + grand finale) both delivered. Individual segments made great use of songs, in some unexpected ways (e.g. Hunchback, Tarzan, Frozen but not...

Got me with SpectroMagic - what a glorious soundtrack. I always loved that the main motif was a waltz, even if I didn't usually stop and watch the parade. It made evenings at MK feel more elegant, especially combined with Wishes. Would be thrilled if DE can capture that feeling in any way.

News Reflections of Earth confirmed to be replaced by Harmonious

We all heard the soundtrack and don't need to be there to judge it, especially considering the fantastic collection of prior spectaculars against which Harmonious will be judged. Pretty sure my first viewing of HEA in 2017 made me tear up, and yes, I was watching a live stream from my bed in...

News Reflections of Earth confirmed to be replaced by Harmonious

Agreed. Still need to see this in person to see how the music 'feels' at full volume, but while I enjoyed some of the arrangements (Lion King, Coco, and Brave come to mind), I'm not sure anything will match the ToN plus Golden Dream segment of EF.

News Reflections of Earth confirmed to be replaced by Harmonious

Exactly. For me, all it needed was a common thread musically, like HEA pulls off at the start and end. I loved HEA, and this could have been better. World of Color has this as well - the 'original' musical segments are the highlight. Same with Fantasmic. Same with Wishes. What a complete misstep.

If only it were that good - at least HEA packs a signature song that's arranged really, really well. I know the song originated in Hong Kong, but you'd never know it, as HEA utilizes it perfectly. Sad day for those of us who particularly care about the music.

Obviously the story is that Lion King, Frozen, Moana, Mulan, Coco, Lion King again, etc. are all available to stream! Only on Disney+

The lack of a common thread really bugs me - it's just a clip show from one segment to the next. This is something all the great spectaculars have gotten right. What's the signature melody meant to stick with us long after the show concludes? There isn't one? Wow.

Jurassic Park Rollercoaster Coming To Universals Islands Of Adventure?

Finally had my second ride today (a daytime experience) - it was slightly less thrilling but still more than wild enough, and I loved taking in the sights around the lagoon. Between this and Hagrid's, it's quite a one-two punch for IoA. Bravo!

News Walt Disney World to resume sales of Annual Passes (New sales resume April 20, 2023)

I believe for Disneyland, if you don't show up to your AP reservation 3 times over a 90-day period, you lose the ability to reserve for 30 days. Existing reservations will be maintained, at least. I get the intent, but there are probably going to be a lot of days in FL where people are...
