News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

Even if Disney agreed to do the complete renovation for free, what incentive would OLC have to have a super-popular attraction shut down for a year while it was being re-constructed? And Disney would never agree to doing it for free.

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

Management absolutely sucks. But modern Imagineering also absolutely sucks ... and it had plenty of money and resources to complete this attraction. I know where I'm placing the blame.

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

IMHO, what the new ride is missing is that, when you're shrunk down, if it is intending to imply you've been turned into a frog, it is not obvious. This could have been easily corrected by having the portion right before the drop at 4:45 (with Mama Odie on the screen and immediately preceeding...

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

It is and it isn't. The AAs that exist are mega-upgrades to what was there before. But there are probably 1/3rd of the # of AAs in this attraction than in the one it replaced. And at this point, I think the vast majority of Disney superfans hate screens; we just do; they are lazy.

They are paid (in free goods, services and access). They are going to say what they are expected to say in order to keep the paychecks coming.

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

I've said this from the minute the plot leaks started happening, but ... it's criminal that there wasn't a Dr. Facilier portion of this ride. He was the only thing interesting about the film it is based on.

News Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser coming to Walt Disney World 2021

This isn't a video about why the hotel closed. We all know why the hotel closed - Disney foolishly priced out almost everyone who would be interested in a multi-day sci-fi LARP. Instead this video is about how poorly designed and implemented this mult-day sci-fi LARP was ... and that's why...

What is the best ride you have ever been on?

It might be the Backlot Tour at Universal Studios Hollywood, back when it had the large King Kong animatronic. The best Disney ride is probably either Horizons or Spaceship Earth in the mid-80s. Maybe the Great Movie Ride (in the early 90s when they were still cleaning it occassionally).

At opening in 1982, was EPCOT Center a "full day" park for you?

My family went to EPCOT Center in the summer of 1983 and it was definitely a full day park. As was mentioned earlier in the thread, people spent a ridiculous amount of time at the post-show exhibits (and especially Communicore) mostly because they were featuring the latest technology. These...

    Fallout show

I didn't know anything about the video game (other than it exists), but I binge watched the show and liked it.

    Marvel's Fantastic Four

Kyle Rayner and Damian Wayne are my two least favorite comic book characters ever. Aside from the DEI character replacements (which cost Marvel millions and helped cripple the comic industry), I think the two worst recent comic book trends of the last 10-15 years are (1) the proliferation of...

    Marvel's Fantastic Four

Except nobody cared when they made Nick Fury black. Or Heimdall (which is hilarious in light of Norse mythology). Or the Ancient One being a white woman (which is hilarious in light of the fact that Marvel was falling all over itself at that point to find an asian hero character - there was...

    Marvel's Fantastic Four

It's only ironic if you believe those who think Marvel should do it's best to stick to popular decades-old source material as closely as it can are all mindless drones who are reflexively against any liberal messaging appearing in any mass media (as if 99% of every piece of entertainment media...

    Marvel's Fantastic Four

The first decade of Marvel ... which, aside from the Guardians of the Galaxy, was basically a Stan Lee and Jack Kirby blue print of the greatest hits of Marvel Comics (sans the Fox/Sony properties). Was the first decade of Marvel popular with the public? Did it make enough money? Did it take...

    Star Wars: The Acolyte

This show is going to totally flop and everyone involved is going to pretend like they have no idea why nobody was interested (when South Park eloquently explained it to them a year ago).

What's the last movie you watched?

I watched Confess Fletch on cable on-demand (I think it's because I get Paramount+ for free) over the weekend. It's a good little movie that Hollywood just doesn't make anymore. No big stars (Jon Hamm is really the only name in an ensemble cast), murder mystery, dialogue heavy, lowkey comedy...

NonDisney IPs that eventually could fit in Disney Parks

When it was MGM Studios, I always thought a James Bond flume ride (kind of like Jurassic Park in Universal) would have been great. And if they ever update Rock N Roller Coaster, KISS is the obvious choice to replace Aerosmith.
