Y'all rang? :lookaroun Yes, there were some Horizons-like rides at both New York World's Fairs. The 1964 version (General Motors' "Futurama II") is the most like EPCOT Center's Horizons attraction. Showing how people might live/work/etc in other environments...

They *almost* started flying from ATL last year, but some kind of grand Rube Goldberg type scenario would have had to play out with different airlines dropping routes, etc; so it summarily failed.

And 73, you raise an interesting point... wonder if this now will make them a more active part of DME?

Very cool. Now if Southwest would just fly out of ATL, I could tell Delta to cram their $25 bag fee right up their friendly skies. :D Wonder if we'll see some neat paint-schemes on some of the planes, a la the Shamu planes they have.

I don't mind character meals (though I certainly don't go out of my way to do them, I do understand their popularity); but I like the non-character option to be there. Liberty Tree was a perfect example. No characters at lunch, characters at dinner. You could pick the experience you wanted...

THIS. A bajillion times over. The original was that SSE had been safely evacuated after a *report* of a fire. Some people took that beyond what it actually said, and it suddenly became "z0mgs teh EPCOT bawlz asplode!" If it's on the internet from a non-vetted source, take it as just that...

No telling. Could have been a dried out capacitor, a belt rubbing against wiring, etc, etc. Anything really could cause it to happen.

Eh, for the MOST part, the "rumors" on there were fairly responsible. I only saw one or two "OH MY GOD EPCOT IS BURNING!" tweets. Most faithfully repeated and kept the "certainty" of it in check.

WOFL-TV's Bob Frier mentioned it on his (apparent) Twitter stream. @bfrier -- "two possible breakers... fire and evacuation at Spaceship Earth at Epcot and man pulled alive from rubble in Haiti." ... so maybe WOFL will grab some info on it. Amy Kaufeldt too...

Someone on Twitter just posted that the original Twitterererererr who posted the first report (@wdwcm) says he is now on SSE and all seems normal.

Nothing has been independently confirmed, to my knowledge.
