Rapid Fill Mug Program Fails (at more ways than you might think)

Back to the topic, I used the mugs on several trips with free dining. Just like others have said, morning Nescafe (blech) was the primary use. I'm glad the RFID is biting Disney in the butt, because I don't think Disney ever lost money on their resort soda fountains, they were just trying to...

Rapid Fill Mug Program Fails (at more ways than you might think)

So the Mountains were still available at 7am? If so, I also wonder about the time slots. Because FP+ isn't just about availability, it's about the times available. I know that was true for legacy also.

Last time I was at DLR, I watched a manager trying to diffuse an argument between 2 groups of guests. The spokesperson for one group kept mentioning that they were Annual Passholders, as if that gave them special rights. After watching that exchange, I could understand why some AP holders are...

Rapid Fill Mug Program Fails (at more ways than you might think)

If MM+ was such a great success, why wasn't it implemented at other Disney Parks? I've also wondered why it's not being used on the DCL? I think that would be a great place for the Magic Bands. IMO, this system continues to cost the company a lot more to maintain than they expected. The only...

Honestly, I'm hoping that once SWL is opened Disney jacks up the price of an AP enough to eliminate a large contingency. Or that they revamp the AP so that park entry is limited to a certain number per year. Also, eliminate the payment plan. A lot of people claim that Disney relies on the...

I think the AP attitude of entitlement is the reason they are called Pass Holes by the CM's.

I am so happy about this! I don't think people should be allowed to camp out for hours before the parade to hold spots for a large group. As the CM said, the AP's have a chance to see the parade on multiple occasions, but there are a lot of one time or rare visitors. It's a shame that a...

Disney Visa Card--are the perks worth it?

I pay for everything using my rewards card ( anti- Dave Ramsey, I know), but I pay it off every month. When I got the Chase visa, I used it for everything( gas, groceries, pet food) until I hit the $500, then I went back to using my Bof A reward card.

News WDW Resorts to add fees for parking

There is still a shell game where rooms are taken out of the vacant pool to boost occupancy numbers. If I have a 500 room resort with a 60% occupancy and I take the other 40% out of the pot. I can post a 100% occupancy rate as well. Here's an example: The fire at that occurred at a local...

News WDW Resorts to add fees for parking

Maybe, there was one night in the middle of you entire stay where they could not accommodate you at your original resort, so they had to move you. That is not the same as the entire resort being sold out for the second half of your stay. I've had that experience.

News WDW Resorts to add fees for parking

I thought in the most recent earnings call, that attendance at the American parks was down. I also thought Iger's plan was to continue maximizing profits and continuing with the cuts. At least that's what he said. I also know that that occupancy rates can be a shell game of sorts.

Disney Visa Card--are the perks worth it?

Ramsey and Orman are entertainers first and foremost, but they do provide some common sense advice. I wouldn't follow either one's guidelines, but that's true for most financial planners. They are in it to maximize their profits which may or may not benefit their clients. I just think being...

Disney Visa Card--are the perks worth it?

Personally, no debt trumps all. I don't think there is such a thing as "good" debt, since it can all turn "bad" in the blink of an eye.

Disney Visa Card--are the perks worth it?

I did get a chase Disney Visa once, about 5 years ago when the offer was to waive the annual fee and you got a $300 Disney Gift card after you charged $500 in the first 3 months. But Once I got the gift card, I cancelled the card went back to my B of A reward card. The only thing I can say...

News WDW Resorts to add fees for parking

If I was a local, I'd go to the resorts to eat or to have drinks. After all even when I'm there on vacation, I'm not paying for great food I'm paying for the great atmosphere. It's the same with the gift shops, the merch IMO is crappy, but the theming is fantastic.

Disney Visa Card--are the perks worth it?

You seem to be implying that it's an either or thing with the mortgage. It isn't for me. I max out my Roth, 401K, and pay additional principal on my mortgage. Also, I didn't say having a mortgage was a bad thing. You seem very defensive for no reason.

Disney Visa Card--are the perks worth it?

Totally agree about priorities. However, it seems that the people who are responsible and set aside savings and plan for their futures are stuck supporting people who are irresponsible through increased taxes. The sub prime mortgage debacle is just one example of that. I know I'm lucky, but I...

News WDW Resorts to add fees for parking

I still can't understand Disney's cavalier attitude about the impact of their money grabs. So I would guess you spent a minimum of $200 on a quick visit? I would bet that's a conservative estimate. How many people are they driving away? How long can they sustain this business model? The...
