Rumor Disney resort of some kind in Texas?

Nutshell: Regional park in a super robust region aimed at an underserved demo.

Rumor Disney resort of some kind in Texas?

What do ya’ll think? Even if nothing happens for another decade, or two, or four, is a 3rd domestic destination inevitable, if given enough time as the nation’s population increases?

Rumor Disney resort of some kind in Texas?

Somewhere there’s a spreadsheet showing that there’s money being left on the table if Uni only used their Dreamworks license within a typical Uni park that skews towards teens and adults. Some families with young children would like the Panda, Shrek, and other attractions, but might think that...

Rumor Disney resort of some kind in Texas?

Have we not learned from California Adventure? Ya DON’T build a theme park about Texas IN Texas.

Rumor Disney resort of some kind in Texas?

If only for the way it could relieve strain on CA and FL, I’d support this. Let alone the potentially unique offerings.

Rumor Disney resort of some kind in Texas?

I’m back to Pan again. It’s an amazingly enduring property that has survived lots of adaptations and is still a classic. If you put a Fantasy Springs / Skull Rock / Volcanos type centerpiece in the middle of this new park, that would give you “castle park vibes” without it actually being a...

Rumor Disney resort of some kind in Texas?

Tarzan? Wall-E? Hercules? Seems like I’m just digging from the 90’s 00’s, but that’s what’s nostalgic now anyway. But those also are not billion dollar franchises.

Pan? Hmm… that Neverland ride from Tokyo…

Rumor Disney resort of some kind in Texas?

But it’s also arguable that building anything Star Wars at all undermines the other two resorts. Can they make a third park in the middle of America that has NEW offerings? Are there any powerful, popular IP’s that have been inexplicably denied huge investments by both coasts? Aladdin?

News Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Historical Construction/Impressions

Thanks @Disney Irish. For the record, I really doubt they’re actually doing anything in Texas. This was just my comment on what they could do if they were doing such a thing.

Rumor Disney resort of some kind in Texas?

It would be smart to find a way to make more theme park money off of Classic Star Wars in a way that doesn’t undermine your previous billion dollar investment. Why tear down parts of the two Galaxy’s Edge lands when you can just build something new in the middle of America? Maybe…?

Rumor Disney resort of some kind in Texas?

I would wager that they really wouldn’t want to create a castle park in the middle of America for fear of diminishing the exclusivity of their two current US resorts. so I think they would consider some new kind of park or mini park. However, gone are the days where Disney could just put their...

New Tomorrowland @ Disneyland? Is this the year it finally gets announced? No, and that’s OK

I suspect it’s the growing confidence in the upcoming retro Fantastic Four that prompted DL management to cancel this “minimal refurbishment” plan and to think bigger about TL.

New Tomorrowland @ Disneyland? Is this the year it finally gets announced? No, and that’s OK

This actually kinda tracks with the pre-D23 rumors that a “fresh coat of paint / tear out the broken things but don’t replace them with anything” Tomorrowland plan was in place. This doesn’t sound “bad” to me, just disappointing compared to what could be.

News Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Historical Construction/Impressions

I think what is probably true is that WDI leadership has shifted from “Don’t you dare suggest changing timeline - that’s something only Entertainment can overlay temporarily” to “Ok everyone, we’ll welcome your suggestions to make the land better, even if it means getting rid of the timeline...

News Coco Boat Ride Coming to Disney California Adventure

Yeah, I've always felt like Indy was conceived with the boulder finale first, the lead up to the idol (with the brilliant 3 path illusion), and the great room... and hmm... how to get people from the great room to the boulder...? eh, we'll just wrap a hallway around the perimeter and use...

The average guest doesn’t know, but can still come away impressed or vaguely let down. That goes for lockedown timeline or open and loose.

Avengers Campus: E-Watch! (Waiting on the new ride)

Oh Goonies would make all the pirate stuff on the island work much better than Tom Sawyer’s one throw-away line about pretending to be pirates!

News Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Historical Construction/Impressions

I’m really wondering why any of this talk is going on when Star Wars as a franchise is rudderless. Jon Faverau is going to finish off his Mando-verse stories, and we’ll see if it makes Solo money or Force Awakens money. If Mando’s box office is meh or less, the writing will be on the wall that...

News Avatar Experience coming to Disneyland Resort

It seems like they have discovered that the benefits of “we’re gonna build two” don’t outweigh the negatives.
