Star Wars not so popular or changes already being made?

I'll go with the first "this" any day. I've loved SW since I saw the first one in the theater in 1977. They're a fun film series, and I'm not a critical SW-nerd. But SW will never be "Disney" to me. Ditto Marvel (except I could care less about Marvel anything).

Would it have been better if Disney shut the park to refurbish.

Not to derail this into a full vs half day discussion.. OK, maybe I am... If you've never been to the park before and want to go on all of the rides and see all of the shows, have a TS lunch, spend some time in the shops, watch the parade (such as it is), and see F! and/or SW FW, it's going to...

PizzeRizzo announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios - Was: Rumor: Pizza Planet/Mama Melrose closing?

I'm expecting the same old Pizza Planet pizza in a redecorated building. I'm hoping for better, but not expecting it.

Toy Story Land expansion announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

As I said in a previous post, all attempts at rotating photos and altering perspectives is somewhat flawed, but here is my take at it keeping the artist's rendering in it's original orientation and attempting to coax the actual land plot to fit "under it". Still far from perfect, but I think...

Toy Story Land expansion announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

Ithink the coaster will probably come a lot further into that corner than the overlaid art indicates. The roblem with taking a 2D painting drawn in perspective from one angle is that things in the distance have to be made relatively smaller. In this transformation, what was originally the...

    AVATAR land - the specifics

My original hand-out cards were sadly lost in a fire. But I do have the font installed on my computer. Does that count? :-)

New nighttime show 'Rivers of Light' confirmed to be coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom

I agree. "Soft openings" are basically beta-testing; they can be added or deleted at a moment's notice, be stopped mid-run, etc. Granted, rides are different than shows, but look at the first few weeks of FEA (that should have been "soft" but were offficially opened, with FPPs). Once the...

New nighttime show 'Rivers of Light' confirmed to be coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom

Disney does have the "Disney Nature" series of films which were "edutainment" films that would tie in fairly unobtrusively. I could even see special arrangements of some of the JB or LK music subtly worked into the soundtrack...

Toy Story Land expansion announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

The problem is just about any coaster will have a lot of "unused" land around and under it - unless it's designed as a highly compact coaster such as the various indoor coasters and PW (which is really just a large carnival midway ride). Kumba at BGT is an exception where they did an very good...

Toy Story Land expansion announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

Actually, if the whole immersion "gimmick" is that guests are shurnk to the size of Andy's toys, have "life sized" Woody, Buzz, Jessie, etc, fit's perfectly. What DOESN'T fit is a 20 foot tall statue of the toys. A 15' long sneaker laying around would actually add to the theme...

Toy Story Land expansion announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

In DCS, TSMM is "upscale" carnival games set in a "upscale" midway; thematically, it's perfect. In DHS, it's always been let's put a popular ride "here", outside of any park context. By building a mini-land around it, it at least gives it more context.

Star Wars Land announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

Has it been confirmed that it will use the new ride system that was used in Shanghai POC? There have also been "rumors" of free-flying drones inside; any "real" info on this?

New nighttime show 'Rivers of Light' confirmed to be coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom

I don't really think it will have an impact. Most people are at WDW for multiple nights, so you see one show one night, the other show a different night. There are capacity concerns with ROL, and reports of a limited viewing area to really see the projections at DHS. With all of the increased...

New nighttime show 'Rivers of Light' confirmed to be coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom

If you go solely on what Disney has officially released, it's not confusing at all. ROL is "Coming Soon", and DPs will start in May. It's only confusing because we, along with countless other folks in other forums, are posting various and often conflicting rumors based on everything from "inside...

    News Tomorrowland love

A question for the engineer and construction folks. Would it be physically possible to completely demo the current SM track and support structure and construct an entirely new coaster without having to do major demo/rebuild work on the building itself? If all of the track (only) was replaced...

    New Tomorrowland Rock Paint Job

In the late 1990 (1998, I think) they tried this exact idea in DL. The whites were replaced with coppers, bronzes, and greens giving it what we might call a "steampunk" look. Sadly, this is also when the Astro Orbitor was removed from the raised deck (to be replaced by a very silly piece of...

    Stitch's Great Escape Goes Seasonal

I wouldn't be too worried about this one closing. You probably wouldn't have ridden it unless you were on your 7th full day in the MK and your back just couldn't handle a 28th ride on SM...

We have the chicken and the egg here... Does the length of the dispatch time dictate the length of the stop, or does the length of the stop dictate the length of the dispatch time :-)
