Not disagreeing with you, as I think the gondola system is perfect for this application, but just want to point out that a monorail doesn't need a big loop to turn around.. . the Vegas monorail, which uses the same type of beam, uses switches to run the trains in a back-and-forth shuttle mode...

I assume you are referring to the 15:30mark in the video, I assume that track goes to the storage/maintenance area.. it wouldn't be used for loading or unloading guests.

I'm pretty sure the spacing between cabins is a set interval... any slowdown on the loading platform would have a proportional slow down of the cable to maintain the same interval. ETA: Just watched the video above.....that's exactly how it works.

Regarding the Tron ride and the outside portion: I don't understand why they didn't design it the other way around, with the outside portion at the end because in the movie, during the lightcycle battle scene, it ends with them breaking out of the game grid ...

That isn't the same plot of land... the Tron ride would be on the one to the left of that, on the other side of World Dr. just above Space Mnt. And if they were to build a hotel there, it would end up having a nice view of the unthemed backside of the huge showbuilding the Tron ride is in. :D

The ride in the UK pavilion would be my guess... or maybe the Brazil expansion.
