News Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Permanently Closed Fall 2023

Suffice to say, they missed their audience in both theme and price expectations. Most SW fans are not high rollers with deep pockets able to splurge on something this pricey. Edit: I feel like they could have done better market research on this prior to building and it would have saved them a...

News Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Permanently Closed Fall 2023

I have a hard time seeing them doing any expansion that crosses that road into the parking lot. They just completed that a few years ago. Edit: I mistook this for the old main entrance which was moved. In review, it would seem to be a more viable option for expansion, but I still have a hard...

News Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Permanently Closed Fall 2023

They took a risk to try and create something new for a particular segment of their audience. Agree it was a pricey one and they overestimated what their audience would spend and how many there were for it, but I don't fault them for at least trying. I just think they missed the mark on the...

News Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Permanently Closed Fall 2023

Don't come at me. They have made no indication or public comments about the future of it, which means speculation on the subject is open for discussion. You have your opinion, and others have there's. Call me optimistic, but the Star Wars franchise still has lots of gas left in it, and I...

That's a broad assumption. They have made no public announcements about what they plan to do with it in the long term.

News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

Don’t hold your breath. After the news of this past week I doubt Disney will be announcing anything new or major for WDW until they can get more clarity on the situation with CFTOD.

So, instead of arguing against the claims of the case, and dismissing those, they file for the judge to be disqualified. That sounds quite desperate, and vacuous. Is this the best they've got? Will there be more to follow, or is this just a stalling maneuver?

I do. From a business financial perspective, it makes sense. Moving offices is never a popular thing for any company, but that doesn't mean it's not still in their best interest. California is expensive and has traditionally become more and more difficult to do business there, which is why many...

News Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Permanently Closed Fall 2023

From what I've seen or heard, they spent a lot of time and money researching this and creating the story. I think they should have spent more money on marketing and sales to make this work.

News Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Permanently Closed Fall 2023

Maybe, but with Star Wars they have (or had) many more story lines and characters they could have played from many of which are well known when you consider all of the different movies, shows, and books even that exist. With Haunted Mansion, they just seem a lot more limited to a couple of...

Orlando Becoming East Coast Headquarters for Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products

Do we add or subtract Galactic StarCruiser from that? Seriously, though, they will likely spend at least that much over the next 10 years in ongoing operational costs.

Nice, soft positive spin with emphasis on community involvement, and apolitical, at least overtly. Under the surface though, this is VERY political, and it's the kind of game that I think Disney, led by Iger, is very good at.

Seems more like a desperate attempt to spin it in his favor. At the least he avoided (ignored) the topic of the potential harm/hurt that it causes the state and that area. Also, it seems clear that it wasn't entirely expected.

Iger cleaning up another of Chapek’s messes. 🤦‍♂️

News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

I'm going to comment on this again, because it really bugs me. First of all, it shows a lack of understanding of what the WDW property is and how it has served the community and (central) Florida. The property is not and was not ever intended to be an "urban" community. It's a VACATION RESORT...

Fair, and at this point, why would they want to stop him from saying anything that might help their case.

Sure, I think that's understood, and I think RCID did a pretty decent job at that previously in their land use plans and overall maintenance of the property. But, the implication in their statements seemed to indicate they were intent on doing much more than just setting up and enforcing zoning...

I wonder if Disney is building a civil suit against Desantis for defamation. Seems they might have enough evidence for that one as well.
