Central FL is obviously a better location than storm surge areas even if in the direct path of a hurricane.

That's always one of the first on the agenda that the AG and DFS look out for.

If not, and they can't leave, they have owners park them in the main MK lot near the Epcot monorail loop then they get put up at a resort.

I would never advise drivin in to ride out the storm or not trying to evacuate. Nor would I say no place safer. That having been said, if you're out of options, its as safe as possibly can be. And CMs look out for their guests. I rode out Ian at AKL.

They were completely wrong in the last one and we know how that turned out for western NC and that area as no one expected it to go that far east. I would rather they be right in their forecast so that people can properly prepare.

So my home was okay in Tallahassee. But my brother and sister-in-law went to visit their daughter at Appalachian State in Boone, NC. You can guess what happened next. To make a long story short, my niece was stuck in her apartment but my brother and sister-in-law had to flee a mountain cabin...

Outages are beginning to kick in Tallahassee. Being a "canopy city", it doesn't take much for downed trees to knock out power.

WDW could see wind gusts between 50-60mph by 9pm.

I understand people are monitoring this storm for impacts to WDW as this is the focus of this forum. But please pause for a moment to think about the impact to Tallahassee and the surrounding Big Bend area. This storm is shaping up to be one of the largest hurricanes to hit the Big Bend area...

That's not good. The previous map had the 2PM Thursday "M" right at the coast. Now it's still out in the ocean which means its slowing down and gets a change to strengthen even more. Gives me all the reason to leave Tallahassee tomorrow.
