    Volcano Bay

Reviews are of course subjective, but all other reviews on TA seem to fall in line with majority opinion on other parks in Orlando: IOA, Discovery Cove, Magic Kingdom, Universal, Animal Kingdom, Sea World, Epcot, DHS, Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach, Aquatica, rank in that order. I'd say that's...

Agreed. IoA is my 2nd favorite park next to the Magic Kingdom.

Hard rock hotel mixed reviews ?

Pretty much per for the course with any hotel. We've never had a bad stay there.

Yeah, but it is the only simulator in the park. I'm not trying to compare the two. Pointless and they both do things well and not so well. On one hand, I applaud Universal for maximizing the space they have. On the other, I worry they're putting too many toppings on a sundae.

I love Universal but building things twice as fast isn't always a good thing. VB was clearly rushed. And the quality of attractions is starting to grow stale with all the simulators. I love that they want to expand, but they need to be careful. They are never going to have the freedom of space...

Really?? Lucky guy. At least he gives good information. Some people who post reports are sooooo boring.

I don't know what it is, but this guy annoys me. Probably jealousy that he gets to go to the parks whenever he wants.

Capacity wise, yes. Review wise, not so much. And that could hurt them. My guess is, they'll get their act together and all will be good. But I don't see attendance staying as large. It's still new. It's right at the start of the summer holiday season. Hopefully, they can get all the issues...

I've read that VB is 53 acres. I believe TL is 56 acres. Very comparable.

Of course. It's brand new. Pandora's been pulling in absurd crowds too. I would expect anything new from Disney or Universal to pull in massive crowds upon opening. The real test is whether they can continue doing it for years.

(Rumor) Harry Potter being added to express pass

I highly recommend only staying at one of the BIg 3 if you plan to do so every time. Once you do, you won't want to go back. I sure as heck won't.

If anyone waits 4 hours for anything, they have nothing to complain about. Their choice.

I can answer that last question. Anyone who doesn't agree with everything he says.

Or a month since the park opened, but hey, month(s) makes your story sound better, so go with it. Why in the blue hell would anyone try to "bait" anyone here in regards to a water park that none of us has any vested interest in? I, and others, are simply going off of the reviews we have read...

I'm truly curious - Do you not realize how you come off sounding on this board, or do you simply not care about being rude to others?

Cool. Thanks for that. I can deal with a $5 fee. :)

    Shipping package to resort?

Does Disney still allow this? We're staying at the Poly a week from Friday and were hoping to send a box down ahead of us with some stuff for the kids. I know the Convention Resorts were charging a fee a few years ago. Do the other resorts do this or is it free to have them hold for a couple of...

I always thought VB would be a hit. From all the pre-opening videos (and even after seeing the videos of the park after opening) I thought it looked amazing.

    Volcano Bay

I don't see any reason why it wouldn't. On the surface, VB looks as interesting, if not more than Disney's parks. Theme parks, with the exception of the Magic Kingdom are actually very close in terms of attendance.

Not sure if those numbers are correct, but if they are, it's actually on par with Disney's. Each of Disney's water parks hits over 2 million guests per year. Each park is closed for at least 1 month per year. That's about 6,000 guests per day. I've read differing reports on the actual size of...
