Why does anyone like to go to Magic Mountain?

Even if you’re parked past Scream? On a warmer day I recall it feeling like walking on the surface of the sun.

Why does anyone like to go to Magic Mountain?

They need a new ad campaign, like those Dominos commercials that apologized for their awful pizza. "Come on down to Magic Mountain; we're slightly less frustrating than we used to be, we promise!"

    The Miscellaneous Thought Thread

How dare you. This is true. MK's TSI feels so lived-in, and the river is gorgeous. It's a tragic loss for that park. With Splash replaced, Country Bears re-themed, and the Rivers of America soon being bulldozed, PeopleMover is really the only thing left at MK that is truly special. Well...

Disneyland Fantasmic Dragon Engulfed in Flames

I guess the question is -- are these types of issues typical for Fantasmic, dating back to 1992? Or is this a recent Iger-money-grubbing-era phenomenon? I enjoy Fantasmic but I'm not a super fan; saw the show last Saturday and thought it looked great, didn't notice any issues (aside from...

Why does anyone like to go to Magic Mountain?

Oh wow. Interesting. Must've been very recent. Admittedly I had no idea they have trams. I've looked around and seen everyone else just walking. If they're willing to invest in solar panels, maybe one day they'll invest in some shade for guests walking the path along Scream/Colossus.

Why does anyone like to go to Magic Mountain?

Aw man. Ugh. Ugh. Well at least you got on it once. IMO it's the best attraction at USH! But probably the most egregiously, needlessly restrictive restraints on any dark ride.

Why does anyone like to go to Magic Mountain?

That's fair. I can certainly agree that the park has excellent coasters and the annual pass is a great value. I'm a thrill seeker too, but I find Magic Mountain a frustrating experience compared to parks like Cedar Point or Hersheypark. Superman, Wonder Woman, and X2 have all been closed on...

Why does anyone like to go to Magic Mountain?

I'm so sorry, that sounds incredibly frustrating. Your Steel Vengeance and V2/Goliath experiences seem to indicate that RMC has some sort of inconsistency with their restraint verification system. In terms of the ride experience, have you been able to enjoy these coasters, or have you...

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

Pretty much. A fast Dora the Explorer ride could be very fun, in a superficial way. It’s not gonna be an all-time classic. I feel the exact same way. If Disney actually cared about the guest experience, they might’ve taken this opportunity to address the log design issue that causes the deeply...

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

That would be incredible. Haha. Agreed. Big picture, the attraction is a trainwreck. I'm still incredulous WDI dropped the ball this hard, given the IP has all the potential in the world and Splash provided a flawless blueprint. Instead, they stood on the shoulders of giants and...

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

What a wasted conversation with the neighbor lady! 🤣 "My last question, neighbor lady: will riders in the forthcoming DCA Avengers ride be referred to as 'recruits'?"

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

I hear you. But "staging changes" (if Drew is being truthful) are not nothing. A little can go a long way. And the pacing and staging issues are among the most embarrassing features of MK's version. I'm not expecting a masterpiece; I'm hoping for a solid "C" grade.

Hard to resist a POV when we have so many unanswered questions. Can these critters play? For the love of God, can they play????????????

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

I’d support any proposal, at this point. Pirates’ overflowing queue has been a crowd-control nightmare for years, and it’s gone from bad to worse with the implementation of LL.

    Eisner Era Relic

2000s Eisner was a nightmare. Having said that, even at the end of his tenure he was still approving stuff like Mission: Space and Expedition Everest.

    Eisner Era Relic

Love this special, particularly the bizarre Cheers bookends and the way-too-much Charles Fleischer. Did America have Fleischer fever in 1990, or something? Haha.

Which upcoming addition to DCA are you anticipating the most?

Avatar. It'll (presumably) have a gigantic budget and join Rise and RSR as one of the resort's flagship modern attractions. Shanghai's Pirates is somewhere around 8 minutes long and looks like a masterpiece; if DCA's Avatar is similar, it'll be a game-changer for DCA. I'm less confident...

    Disneyland Maintenance Reporting Thread

Yep, the boulder scene and the "lava" were both working during my ride on Saturday. Indy's "You had to look, didn't you?" audio didn't play, but otherwise it was (I think) as perfect a ride as you can get in 2024 (given the effects that are still "turned on"). The projections and puffs of...

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

Thanks everyone. That’s what I was thinking, and why I asked; it’d be quite unusual to have two adjacent attractions on virtual queues. That said, as long as there haven’t been any issues with HMH’s virtual queue, I don’t see any reason why this would be problematic. In fact, I kinda wish...
