    Similar. The Disney towers are actually quite tall by lift standards. Ski resorts like to keep them as low as possible for wind purposes. The lift at Vail was built by CTEC, an American manufacturer which Doppelmayr later absorbed.

    It probably went out of alignment so brittle bars and/or rope position detectors. There are no sensors on the steel tube itself. If a communications line broke, a whole bunch of faults would have appeared.
