Which is funny cause you see the same frogs right before the dip drop.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

Making the final Odie animatronic work on a sensor trigger. The logs naturally backup close to the loading station. Considering this, the former Imagineers designed a sequence you could sit and marvel at for 30 seconds to 2 minutes: the looping Brer Rabbit Zipadeedoodah solo. There's 2-3 minutes...

There was definitely some malice, but a lot of the blame can be placed on sheer incompetence.

I should've posted it back in May when I made it. Better late than never.

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

It's as close to a clone as you could get between the two. Which is surprising given that the original Splash and MK's Splash were anything but clones of each other.

Rumor Tokyo Disneyland Splash Mountain Retheme Discussion

This is still modern WDI designing the retheme. I'm sure OLC will force them to design something better than TBA (the bar is on the floor), but it won't be an improvement over their Splash Mountain. I'm sure OLC knows this, which is why they've been holding off for so long.

No I'm just not doing it. Not unless they fix that drop so it doesn't capsize the logs. There are so many great attractions at Disneyland. Why would I ride one that is crappy AND gets my socks wet for the rest of the day?

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

It's an absolute gurantee I will never ride this version. I went through the hassle of swapping out my shoes for crocs to hear Zipadeedoodah, but I am not doing it for Special Spice.

Totally respect everything you said here.

Then they should have changed the ride system. You can't change the target audience and keep the ride path exactly the same.

Oh absolutely. No doubt in my mind. Probably to stick it to fans like us too!

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

Kids like anything. That’s not “the real test”. Now granted, I actually think this ride has more of a chance to traumatize kids with the tonal whiplash between the theming and the thrill aspect, but that’s besides the point.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

Not denying that those things sucked, but it was still better than TBA. Like yeah, it’s unfortunate that there were 5 missing animatronics, but that’s a drop in the bucket for Splash. 5 missing figures on Tiana though? That would be something.

I think we are stuck with it as is for 10-20 years.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

I think it’s rather overstated how “poorly” the Splash animatronics worked towards the end. I was there a month before closure. Roughly 95% of the figures were working completely fine. Can’t say the same for the lighting though. 95% may not be 100%, but that’s still over 90 figures working...

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

Change the story to make it a visit to Mama Odie’s tree. Have Facilier “trick” you into entering a tree that is really a portal to The Other Side. Then, just as he’s about to take your souls, you drop. Finale would be a big celebration at Mama Odie’s tree boat thing (instead of the lame house)...

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

No because: A) It’s not a thrill ride B) The environments feel different C) The soundtrack flows together cause it’s just one song in different languages/instruments D) There are lots of little details to look at, unlike TBA

Based on my experience in Florida, they're off putting if you really look at them....but you barely notice them anyways.
