    Lightning Lane Premier Pass

I could easily afford to buy this, but... it doesn't seem remotely worth the price. All of the parks (except maybe DAK) have rides I don't care about riding, so the fact that I could go to them without an advanced booking or waiting in the standby line is irrelevant because I don't really want...

Universal Epic Universe (South Expansion Complex) - Opens May 22 2025

Oh I'd be shocked if they altered the existing lands -- I'm also not sure if they will even have the rights to use the TV show. And I agree that it's not likely to be bigger than the movies, especially not right away. But in 15 years, maybe? If people think it's great, and start directing...

Universal Epic Universe (South Expansion Complex) - Opens May 22 2025

I wonder if the new HBO Harry Potter show will have any effect on the areas at Universal. If it's a major success, does it eventually supplant the films? If so, having their HP areas/attractions themed around (and including specific actors from) a version of the IP that's no longer the dominant...

News Disney plans to reboot Voyage of the Little Mermaid stage show at Disney's Hollywood Studios

Especially since most of that old Hollywood theming is just the facades now -- Sid Cahuenga's is gone and the shops generally sell the same generic Disney merch you find at Disney Springs and the resort gift shops. That area doesn't have remotely the level of theming it did 25-30 years ago.

News Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

I think it's generally less about cuts and more about bloated spending anyways. If they're given $200m to spend on a project, and they end up spending $60m on stuff they only budgeted at $40m, then they have to cut $20m elsewhere. It's not exactly the same thing as cutting the project budget.

New Enhancements, Dining Options Coming to Disney’s BoardWalk

I think that's the biggest problem with it, though. One of the best restaurants on property is almost next door. If you're staying in that area, it's hard to believe many people would choose Cake Bake Shop over Flying Fish if they want a nice, expensive dinner.

News Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

It's just hard to find a good place to put it in TSL because the land was so poorly designed.

News Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

I'd hate to lose Sci-Fi -- it and and the 50s Prime Time Cafe are two of the only remaining locations from the original park that are interesting and fully themed inside and out instead of only having a themed facade (like most of Hollywood Boulevard).

News Disney plans to accelerate Parks investment to $60 billion over 10 years

Do cruises count as part of Florida tourism? People headed there solely to board a cruise aren't really spending money in Florida. I guess there is still a benefit to Florida so it would count, but certainly a much smaller benefit/impact than from someone actually being in Florida for a week or...

News Disney plans to accelerate Parks investment to $60 billion over 10 years

My point is that a theme park vacation and a cruise are not close to being the same thing to many people. Personally, you'd have to pay me to go on a cruise. I don't like anything about them and don't find them remotely similar to visiting a theme park. They're not exactly a one to one swap...

News Disney plans to accelerate Parks investment to $60 billion over 10 years

I don't know -- while there's obviously overlap in terms of people who enjoy both, I don't think a cruise and going to a theme park are similar experiences. I like going to theme parks (although I don't go very often, certainly not compared to many of the people who post here); I have absolutely...

News 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

Universal is almost the opposite, though. It's not like it has a bunch of great family friendly rides that are enjoyable for everyone -- it basically has thrill rides and kid rides with a handful of exceptions. There's really nothing there comparable to rides like Pirates, Haunted Mansion...

Rumor Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

I couldn't care less if it was cloned elsewhere. It's not like that would affect my enjoyment riding it at EPCOT.

New Enhancements, Dining Options Coming to Disney’s BoardWalk

Good question. They screwed up the Belle Vue Lounge, too, although the redone version isn't as bad as the coffee bar. It just lost a lot of character and looks a little too modern.

News Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

Not as a Mario Kart attraction, though. It's probably better than all three of the ones you mentioned, but none of them are good either. It would be a better attraction if the shooting gallery was excised and it was just a Mario ride through the quality sets etc. (although I think those would...

News Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

I guess I could/should have said don't get your expectations up rather than don't get excited. Nothing wrong with getting excited about a potential addition that sounds cool to you; just don't expect it to happen until Disney officially announces it.

News Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

Honestly, does it really matter? This stuff eventually gets announced and built, or it doesn't. I wouldn't get excited about anything until Disney has actually started construction.

News Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

Great Movie Ride was originally planned for EPCOT in the 80s. I think there's about a 0% chance any version of it is ever built there now.

News Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

Yeah, I think Mario Kart is a pretty big swing and a miss. It's not a terrible attraction on its own (although it would be better just as a Mario ride without the AR shooting), but it really doesn't feel anything like Mario Kart.
