New Enhancements, Dining Options Coming to Disney’s BoardWalk

The breakfast prices are kind of a weird mix now. They were too high across the board, but after the cut some seem fine (like the eggs benedict) and some still seem incredibly overpriced, like the $20 breakfast sandwich that apparently comes with no sides of any kind, or $8 for a side order of...

New Enhancements, Dining Options Coming to Disney’s BoardWalk

I said this somewhere above too. I think it's going to be incredibly difficult for them to succeed at lunch service for reasons beyond price, but the pricing exacerbates the issue. Problem is, based on the menu, it's really more of a lunch place than a dinner place. They have a couple of...

New Enhancements, Dining Options Coming to Disney’s BoardWalk

I'd certainly hope the food is good for the price!

    Lightning Lane Premier Pass

As an addendum to what I posted earlier about inflating wait times -- I assume they'd also generally want a cushion re: wait times in case a bunch of people enter the queue in a very short period of time and spike the actual wait. It would take some time to reflect that in the posted wait, so...

    Disney, VR/AR, and Apple's WWDC 2023

This is true, but if they saw a big enough market they'd have worked these issues out (i.e. agreed on a uniform standard). I think the fact that they didn't think it was worth doing tells you all you need to know.

New Enhancements, Dining Options Coming to Disney’s BoardWalk

I forgot about Takumi, but for me Flying Fish is better than Topolino's, Citrico's, or Tiffin's (and was much better than California Grill before California Grill went to prix fixe nonsense). I've never eaten at Jiko so no opinion there. I've eaten at Flying Fish twice in the last 6 or 7 years...

New Enhancements, Dining Options Coming to Disney’s BoardWalk

You can also walk almost next door to Cake Bake and eat at what is probably the best non-V&A restaurant on property if you're looking to spend something similar to Cake Bake prices.

    Disney, VR/AR, and Apple's WWDC 2023

I think I misunderstood your original post -- I thought you were arguing that the Vision Pro was actually incredibly successful and stopping production was meaningless. I agree with basically all of this. I'm pretty sure I even compared VR headsets to iPads somewhere earlier in this thread, as...

    Lightning Lane Premier Pass

Disney is stupid if they aren't intentionally inflating the wait times by at least 10-15 minutes. Putting aside any talk about pushing to sell LLs... it's just good for customer satisfaction. You always want people to wait for a shorter amount of time than they expected, because that makes them...

    Disney, VR/AR, and Apple's WWDC 2023

Sure, but that's not the case in this specific instance. We know that demand is far lower than Apple expected. It feels like spin to hand wave it away as standard manufacturing process. This product line has not been successful (at least compared to Apple's expectations).

    Disney, VR/AR, and Apple's WWDC 2023

Yes and no. This is true, but it's also misleading -- the reason they have enough inventory is because the sales figures are dramatically below projections. They did not originally plan to stop production this early.

News The Walt Disney Company Board of Directors Extends Robert A. Iger’s Contract as CEO Through 2026

I didn't say they shouldn't use IP; just that it shouldn't be forced. Many (not all) of Disney's best attractions didn't use any specific existing media property. There's a lot more freedom in designing the best possible attraction that way, because when using an existing property you're already...

Universal Epic Universe (South Expansion Complex) - Opens May 22 2025

I'm only talking about the 3 month period when this is open and Epic isn't. Even with dedicated bus lanes etc. it still doesn't really make any sense as a guest to stay here over any of the other options; it's less convenient with no additional benefits to make up for it (again, unless the price...

Universal Epic Universe (South Expansion Complex) - Opens May 22 2025

I didn't say Universal shouldn't open it -- I said, from a guest perspective, I don't know why anyone would choose to stay there right now over other Universal options unless they're getting it really cheap.

Universal Epic Universe (South Expansion Complex) - Opens May 22 2025

And almost every other Universal resort is within walking distance of the parks -- the Disney comparison doesn't make any sense here. Why would anyone choose to add the extra travel time to/from the parks if it wasn't significantly cheaper when the only other Universal resort with that issue is...

Universal Epic Universe (South Expansion Complex) - Opens May 22 2025

That's exactly what I was thinking. It's going to mainly be people who want to say they're the first to be there and report on it -- it doesn't really make sense for anyone going to the parks to stay there before EU.

News The Walt Disney Company Board of Directors Extends Robert A. Iger’s Contract as CEO Through 2026

I agree he was much worse post-Wells, but we still got some really great stuff that we would have never gotten under Iger. Eisner at least saw the parks and resorts as something more than just a place to promote Disney media content, despite other flaws.

Universal Epic Universe (South Expansion Complex) - Opens May 22 2025

I meant from a consumer perspective -- I'm not sure why someone would stay here over any of the existing Universal resorts before EU opens, unless it's much cheaper. All of the other Universal properties are near the parks and CityWalk; this one is 5 miles away.

They'd be far from the first company to change or cancel existing plans due to a change in leadership.
