    Should WDW open?

My (probably) unpopular opinion: should have never shut down to begin with.

    WDW Resorts Reopening Thread

If I’m a Disney shareholder (which at the present I’m not) I’m not bullish on the future of the theme park business at all. I honestly don’t see a path to profitability until at least mid 2021 and that’s 100% on Disney at this point. I have very little confidence in this leadership team right now.

What is your timeline for Disney being back to normal again?

It’s amusing to me how all of the news outlets report an increase in confirmed cases but refuse to report the drastic fall in deaths over the last 30 days. The fall in deaths can likely be attributed to two things: better treatment strategies to those that need hospitalization and the fact that...

News Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge (Project 89 - Development near Fort Wilderness)

Jesus. You know what I think about when I ride Splash Mountain? Oh look at Brer Fox and Brer Bear try to catch Brer Rabbit. How cute. That’s the attraction. Not a single reference to the controversial parts of Song of the South. It’s three fuzzy and cute little characters that sing catchy songs...

News Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge (Project 89 - Development near Fort Wilderness)

I never thought Splash Mountain would offend anybody yet here we are. Never underestimate people’s ability to be offended by bizarre things.

News Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge (Project 89 - Development near Fort Wilderness)

unfortunately with the hyper-oversensitivity being displayed in our country these days I don’t blame Disney for going to sterile route on new projects. You never know who you are going to offend or upset one day by your theme/story line.

    Food & Wine Festival 2020

This has been my attitude towards everything: Disney should offer Food and Wine, Fireworks, Parades, etc and allow those that are comfortable to participate. By taking these things away we are legislating to a small minority of people that wouldn’t be comfortable partaking in these experiences.

News Walt Disney World's COVID-19 reopening plans announced - July 11

I believe I read yesterday that resort guests will not have guaranteed entrance which baffled me. So the guest paying $300+ per night to stay at your resort doesn’t get preferential treatment on attendance policies? Who in Gods name is making these policies?

What kind of Disney guest are you?

We typically rope drop our park entry mostly due to the fact that our kids are early risers 😬. We will stay in the park until about noon or so and then head back to the resort to relax for a bit before reentering the park around 4:00.

How much of Disney World has to be open for you to go?

100% for me but most importantly no mask requirement. With two young children to expect them to wear masks is just plain silly. Even local child care centers aren’t requiring children to wear masks because they know it could cause more harm than good. This was a big swing and a miss by Disney/CDC.

Park Attraction Operations in the COVID-19 Era

The magic of queues is they provide excellent crowd control. Virtual queues will simply create chaos of people walking around the parks until it’s their time to enter an attraction.

News Disney Springs Begins Phased Reopening on May 20

Two and up?!?!? Unbelievable. I can’t believe Disney is taking such a God awful approach to this.

News Walt Disney World's COVID-19 reopening plans announced - July 11

I have a theory.... This is going to be a very good thing in the long run for Disney Resort guests and AP holders. Hear me out: every business wants to achieve peak customer satisfaction and peak customer profitability. One of the largest gripes of Disney guests recently is “it’s too crowded.”...

    News New Park Hours...

Boy that’s a good question... how would they sterilize each car after use?

    News New Park Hours...

I’ll go out on a limb and say this reopening is going to be an unmitigated disaster for Disney. I want absolutely nothing to do with the combination of restrictions, reduced park hours, and mask requirements. There are going to be some awfully bored/disappointed guests in July when they can’t...

News Walt Disney World's COVID-19 reopening plans announced - July 11

Those that are still planning on going in July.... How do you justify paying thousands of dollars for roughly 60% of the “normal” Disney experience? I’m genuinely curious to see some replies.

Rumor Indication that Disney may open on June 14th?

It’s a good thing Universal is putting some pressure on Disney to stop sitting on the fence and start making some decisions. Granted I’m totally against a restricted reopen with mask requirements I still think Disney needs to get their act together and reopen.

What will the experiences at the resorts be like post COVID?

Part of it has... Harvard researchers found that transmission in warmer climates with higher amount of UV Rays is less significant. And Universal is taking the right approach by opening next week while Disney continues to play the game of uncertainty.

    Masks at WDW

Received a survey from Disney the other day regarding my feelings for a park reopening. I made sure my point was absolutely 100% clear that the required mask policy would be a completely unacceptable policy IMO. Allow me to explain... I had a case of heat stroke in 2003 and one of the many...

Would you visit Walt Disney World with these health-based operational restrictions in place?

👆🏻👆🏻This! Something that has gone completely unmentioned is that one of the main reasons COVID19 is so “contagious” is because 99.9% of people have never come into contact with this virus. We come into contact with a different strain of the flu every season and some people can fight it off...
