    hurricane season in October?

As correctly stated, hurricane season ends on November 30th. Hurricane season peaks around the 10th of September. That would mean that you would have the same chance of having a storm form in mid-October that you would have in early to mid-August. The odds of having a storm on a certain day in a...

    The Official Hurricane Ivan thread...

Out here in the USVI we may have to contend with Ivan sometime next week. I've found during my time here that as long as your are prepared entering hurricane season that you can't worry about every bit of tropical activity. If indeed a storm heads toward you you should be ready for it. but you...

    The Official Hurricane Frances thread...

I agree with Haunted Pirate. That is exactly what I do down here. Though the storm winds will change direction, you should have one side of the house that will be the most leeward. Put the cars there, if possible. They will be fine. Good luck & stay safe.

Fort Wilderness vs. Animal Kingdom Lodge

As far as seeing animals from your room, you may want a small pair of binoculars. You don't need them, but they are good to have. You will receive an guide to the animals that can be seen from your room upon checking in. Besides zebras and giraffes, there are ankole cattle (they have GIANT...

    The Official Hurricane Frances thread...

I did read the portion of the discussion forecasting possible shear, but that is at the 72 hour point. At that time a fair portion of the storm will have possibly made landfall. The big problem is the size of this storm and the fact that it is already a CAT 4 storm, so slight weakening makes it...

    The Official Hurricane Frances thread...

While I really do not want to be negative, the land interaction they discuss in 72 hours is when the storm begins to make landfall in the US. Other than slight fluctuations, there is no reason to believe that this storm will weaken before that time. Sea temperatures are warm, not much shear and...

mickeys not so scary halloween party

imamouse, all that is required is the ticket for MNSSHP itself. It includes admission for the evening. No need for any other Park ticket for the evening. Hope this answers your question. BTW, the Party is a great time.

    Halloween at Disney Dilemma

If you won't be able to attend on any other nights of your stay, maybe Downtown Disney does some kind of trick-or-treat program. If not, check out something like the Orlando Vistors Bureau and see if they have any events listed.

Worried about Food & Wine Festival

We were in WDW for the Festival last year & will be there again this year. Crowds during the day were fairly light, while evenings tended to be more crowded. If you are just going to Epcot during the day, you should be fine. Food booths do have some tasty treats, pretty affordable too. You...

    Which park with Chef Mickey

If you are doing Cindy's breakfast and are not late-risers, make a PS for before the MK officially opens. You will have the Park almost to yourself. We were able to do this for our last trip and were able to take pictures in front of an empty Castle. We were four of about fifteen people on Main...

Fort Wilderness vs. Animal Kingdom Lodge

Comparing the two resorts is an "apples & oranges" type of thing. We have stayed in and loved both. What we did was stay a few days @ DAKL and then moved to the Cabins for the rest of our stay. Both are great, though the AKL rooms are significantly smaller than the cabins. You are able to see...

Has anyone done Mickey's Backyard BBQ?

We went on the last evening of our trip this past May. Thought it would be a great way to cap of our vacation. We were staying in FW cabins and had a very early flight the following morning, so this seemed like a good choice for the last night. It turned out to be the biggest disappointment of...
