Panel with John Murdy, HHN Hollywood Creative Executive

Hey everyone, so I was talking with a friend of mine at USC who is helping to put on an event that I think would be really interesting to HHN fans. His organization is hosting a panel with John Murdy, the creative director of HHN in Hollywood, that he says will include a Q&A portion at the end...

News Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Standby Line and Boarding Groups at Disney's Hollywood Studios

3 worked best for me if you begin the process at 6:58. Your phones time and Disney’s time won’t exactly align, so rapidly full reloading (with a good phone, which is critical) early gives you constant updates, and we got boarding groups 9 and 18 with this method as BGs became available when our...

News Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Standby Line and Boarding Groups at Disney's Hollywood Studios

I was on it today around 10:30 and all the preshows and animatronics were working on our run through. In line they said there was a slight delay in operations, but the line still moved and by the time we got to the initial loading area (before Rey) everything worked as normal.

News Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Standby Line and Boarding Groups at Disney's Hollywood Studios

Pretty crowded Friday with runDisney crowds, got boarding group 18. The optimal strategy is if you have a fast phone and cellular data connection, rapidly reloading the app from scratch at 6:59 will essentially give you live updates on the boarding groups which got us 9 and 18 two separate days.

News Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Standby Line and Boarding Groups at Disney's Hollywood Studios

The hype and my own expectations were definitely over exaggerated, but I stand firmly by the statement that this is the best and most immersive dark ride in America, probably the world. It feels like you’re in a genuine Star Wars adventure. It’s not a ride, it’s an experience.

News Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Standby Line and Boarding Groups at Disney's Hollywood Studios

One thing to note, while rotr has lots of downtime today, everything was fully functioning with bb-8, both kylos, and all preshows functioning. No live stormtroopers though.

Gonna try and snag another bg tomorrow and report how that goes. The system limits each person to one bg each day, so same day rerides arent possible. Idk if that was reported here yet

Boarding group 9, both group members used their phones. While the refresh didn’t work, on startup boarding groups became available almost instantly. Got into the actual park at 6:40, left hotel at 6:10 so it took about half an hour to get in for future planning.

    This forum's opinion on IPs?

I was wondering if people could offer their opinion on the use of IPs in Disney parks to gather a general opinion of this forum, and why they feel the way they do about the inclusion of IPs. Personally, while I love the original Disney attractions such as Space Mountain and Big Thunder...

Bob Iger Discusses Disney History vs. Innovation

I'm sorry but this is major gatekeeping that keeps potential new Disney fans away from being involved in the community. All fans of the parks, regardless of whether they enjoyed Iger, Eisner, or want the pure vision of Walt himself are all true Disney fans.
