Free parking for resort guests?

So my check in time for AKL is 4pm tomorrow and Magic Kingdom rope drop is 8am. Do I need to go to AKL first before going to Magic Kingdom, to get a parking pass that shows I’m staying at a Disney resort for the free parking? Or do they scan your Magic Band and see that you’re staying at a resort?

They will scan your band.

If you don’t have one or there’s an issue, worst case is you’ll have to pay and then you can get the front desk to refund it.

You also don't have to wait until 4 pm to check in -- you can do so practically any time after 6 am the day of arrival. And -- bonus -- your room might be ready, read probably will be ready based on all the cancellations they've had over the storm.

Go to the park and they will scan your band.
