Florida discounts?

I am travelling to WDW next March and have made reservations to camp at Fort Wilderness. I am now researching tickets to WDW and am trying to find any money saving options. We will probably get a 4 or 5 day ticket with park hopper options. I have read that there is a discount for Florida residents and my brother happens to live in Miami. Could he buy the tickets for me?

Well from past experience, he can't buy park tickets for you as a resident for the discount. Park tickets discounts require a FL idea of some type. As far as the room is concerned, he may book the room at a discount (if one is available) and if he goes on the trip with you, present his ID at check in and get the FL room rate for all of you.

If you have Florida resident tickets, you probably will be required to show valid Florida ID* in order to use them.

* there is an official list, but it includes driver's license, college ID, military ID, voter card. A utility or tax bill for property you may own in Florida is not a valid resident ID. Florida must be your primary residence.

Florida residents only for those dicounts.

If he has a seasonal or annual pass he may be able to get you a few bucks off but not that much. Florida residents are taken care of here since it is our home.

I am sure you have soem kind of park in your state which gives you discounts.

I'm not usually a stickler for THE RULES, but in this case, I have to say: Florida resident passes are for the use of Florida residents only.

I am new to this and do not know what THE RULES are but I get the idea. Discounts are for FLA residents only! I am just trying to save some money on a costly vacation. Thanks for your responses.

You do save a few bucks if you buy your tickets before you get down to WDW. You could pick up park hopper tickets at the Disney Store. I believe they're a little bit cheaper.

When you buy Florida Resident tickets, you need to have a valid ID for each ticket purchased and your name is put on them. So no. He can't buy them for you. Sorry.
