The way that nobody can ever agree on what band or artist should replace Aerosmith is probably one of the reasons none were chosen to replace them.

You can blame social media for that.

Today you cant get people to agree on anything.

If social media were around when this ride was originally developed there would have been plenty of people complaining about Aerosmith.

True. In 1999: Here's a new ride! Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith!

"Oh okay! Cool!"

Today: Rumors and discourse for years before it's even officially announced.

I believe Rolling Stones and U2
I remember reading in one of the unofficial guides that when one Imagineer asked another how much money U2 wanted to do the coaster, the other Imagineer said, "U don't wanna know."

Say, is it true that they considered building a Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Disney's California Adventure starring No Doubt?

There were plenty of people that couldn't imagine a grungy rock band like Aerosmith should be in any place on WDW's property. They, of course, or it was the longest running failure in history, were wrong and those that disagree with the Muppets being there might be right or they might be wrong. Only time will tell.

Jim Shull said they also couldn't afford the Rolling Stones. In retrospect I think Aerosmith was the best choice of those three.

is it going to be a muppets cover of a band’s song or just the normal song playing?

I'm not sure. My understanding was that it was to be a mix of artists and Electric Mayhem.

The last thing I heard - this was about a month ago - was that the music recording sessions were running behind schedule.

They had at least one artist they really wanted but apparently waited too long to actually get the session on the books, and now it conflicts with the artist's schedule. I don't know where they're at on that now.

They (Aerosmith) certainly fit the image of the ride best.
The Stones don't really have a song that I can think of that would work with that launch very well.
Neither does U2 unless you go back to when they were good which was their very early stuff.

Aerosmith’s stats as a legacy group are perfectly average, but very far behind the true legends of the era. You combine that with the evident lack of interest in younger audiences that Zeppelin and especially Queen have picked up, the controversies surrounding Tyler, and the general and natural shifts in music consumption to modern audiences, and it’s hard to make a case for Aerosmith sticking around.

I would love to talk about this data.

It's the Year of Our Lord 2026 and Fleetwood Mac's 1977 album Rumours is the #5-selling rock album:

Fleetwood Mac has had an almost indescribably huge rise in popularity with Gen Z and I’m not entirely sure what the origin of it is but I’m glad they have

I have never agreed more with something I read on the internet.
Gonna counter that U2’s best stuff is their 90s stuff (Achtung Baby is better than Joshua Tree fight me) and that is perfect for a roller coaster !!
