The thread title pretty clearly states that it's for both Piston Peak and Villains Land construction, so it's NOT just about Piston Peak. We were discussing timelines of recent other lands, directly relating to the construction of Villains Land, starting with Pandora, in which I was actually the third person to respond about. Sorry to be so offensive, as to discuss how these competing attractions compare to these ones in the the title, and what I consider the high bar for competition to said lands in the thread title... Wow!

P.S. I find it strange that I wasn't even the one that brought up Pandora, in relation to the Villains Land construction timeline, which is what we are directly referencing, but you singled me out, anyway. I understand that there are other threads for specific topics, and I don't really appreciate being talked down to. But then, if I went to one of those, then I'm sure that someone like you over there would probably just tell me that Piston Peak and Villains Land shouldn't be discussed there, since that's ultimately what we are discussing here, and how the timeline vs quality stacks up in relation to these two lands in the thread title.

I do truly enjoy talking about these new lands with like-minded people, but the whiplash in these forums as absolutely wild!

I was going to say something before, as I've heard "Tangled Toilets" multiple times from my wife, but I kind of assumed that you probably didn't care, and I knew what you meant.

Speaking of "Tangled Toilets", what does anyone think about the chances of that pathway being opened up to Villains behind it, between HM and IaSW show buildings?

I give this pathway about a 25% chance of happening, and that's only because there's seemingly only 1 other way into Villains Land, aside from possibly a new train station... but it is interesting that it has a gate there. Unfortunately, it's not a parallel pathway, and I'm not even sure how wide the narrowest point is.

I give it about a 2.5% chance. The amount of investment it would take to make it work… too much $ with not a significant benefit - IMO.

Agreed. I think that gets into fallout zone too but they could always close that path if needed.

Personally, I always find investment into relieving crowd stress to actually be worth the investment in a bit of theming and lighting. On the other hand, I'm not even sure if there's enough space to make that path not another choke point, so that's another concern.

I don't want to go off subject again into another park, but when they expanded DL in the same direction with Galaxy's Edge, they actually inherited less pinch points in that entire area, and were able to have multiple paths out, and to the right.

They surely must have some concerns about having everyone coralled into a sort of dead end cul-de-sac with Villains Land, even if they can put an evacuation zone behind, heading out towards the road... but then that would also require crossing the railroad tracks.

That said, I wonder about the possibility of that Tangled path being at least a one-way exit from the land?

In case anyone else cares about this other than myself, I did do a little more digging on this via Google Maps, since I just remembered that it had a measure distance tool. This is just for fun, and when not much official information can be found, I find that speculation to be quite therapeutic.

This is the place that I was talking about, in the upper right corner, btw:

And what I wanted to know, was how wide a potential pathway could be at the tightest point between these two buildings. The answer is 46 ft max, minus any path features or railing, which is actually wider than I thought.

vs the bottom, at approximately 66 ft.

However, it quickly became more clear that there's probably not enough room to get through the current service gate, which seems somewhere around 20 ft wide (not that the tool is especially accurate at this close of a zoom), so now I've found the real choke point with this path.

So, unless the entire path is an exit only, or they possibly clear a 2nd path on the west side of the crap tower, (you can see that there's more area on the left side of the restrooms a couple picks up, and I've measured another 16 ft on that side) then I don't know... Lastly, there's always the option of simply getting rid of the restrooms, even though they haven't been there all that long.

I just don’t see it as being like a single entry dead end. We’ll have the west side of Piston peak (by Big Thiunder) and the east side of Piston Peak (by HM). This two areas are pretty far apart. In fact adding an entry via Tangled is much closer to HM entry than already planned BTMRR entry. Not to mention flushing even more traffic through Bermuda trangle choke area that is Pan-Small World-Tangled

I can’t quite envision the benefit from inside Villians land yet, not until we have a better known land layout.

IMHO if Disney wanted a third entrance to the land (which I don't think they do) AND they were willing to spend some big bucks... they would remove the Pinocchio bathrooms and do a theme bridge over the utilidor entrance to villan's land. However, I don't think the cost really justifies the price/logistics that would take ( I would rather them put that money into a new ride somewhere)

This does break the Testa Rule... don't move plumbing.

I don't think we know anything for sure... but I think most people's assumption is that it will look something like this:

Do you count this as 2 entrances (HM and Big thunder) or 1 because they link into a single road?

Practically, it is one entrance if everyone is funneled in and out on a single path (even if people can chose to get to that single path two different ways).

I honestly think that a lot of "getting it right" happens in the planning phase, and really ironing everything out first. My favorite land at Epic is Wizarding Paris, not just because of the sheer scale of it, but the execution and level of detail everywhere you look. I'm not even a HP fan (but big on Uni Monsters), but just walking around the streets of 1920s Paris is absolutely remarkable, down to the correct paving stone imprints. They delivered on everything except for a 2nd ride, but that's still cooking... Competition is really a great thing!

Pandora delivers on everything for me for the land itself, but the boat ride is just way too short, and limits the time spent with tangible things to do while there. I'm glad that they are going with a more immersive boat ride in DL. If they can also get a flight of passage in there, then that would feel like a more complete land, with 2 E-ticket rides. Maybe they could eventually add a 3rd attraction to AK?

I think the tangled bathrooms will be moved, rotated etc and we will get an above ground tunnel entrance to the right side of Villain's Land

Restrooms have to be maintained in the general area. The only place they could really go is closer to The Haunted Mansion.
